This is an upgrade a little surprising it is actually smaller then the B2 with lower payload capacity but largely due to the changing landscape of the needs for deep penetration bombers. The B2 is still after all these years the best low observance stealth bomber but China quickly getting ready to put their own version of the low observance stealth bomber. The B21 gives you greater range, higher speed and shares interestingly enough parts with the F35 lowering costs for part maintenance and they will be building a lot more of the B21 like 100 vs the much fewer in number B2 and lower cost per bomber.

You can tell the decades of service that the B2 has done as well as the B1 went into the design of the B21. What really differentiates the B2 from the B21 is vastly improved technology such as loyal wingman drone technology. It would be able to coordinate numbers of drones that could act as deterrents or combat aircraft providing cover for the B21 Raider.

This video is just someone 3D model of what they believe the B21 will look like and it's pretty good.

Side note could I recommend military tech as an option for a title.

I wonder if they’ll bomb those Chinese police stations currently in the U.S.
Interestingly, the NYPD has offices overseas in fourteen different countries. They are not under the authority of the Chief of Mission.

As for the Chinese police stations, they claim they are there to help Chinese citizens complete paperwork. But, they can get that done at their closest consulate. So, I'm not sure why the US hasn't PNGed those working at these stations. Unless the US wants them around so that they can keep track at what's going on.

nowhere near ready, and they'll likely be concentrated at whiteman and probably barksdale. difficult to deploy overseas for long durations with all of the maintenance requirements
I would bet the furthest they would deploy is Anderson AB Guam...it always struck me funny when B-2 guys would say they "deployed" to Guam for 6 months lol.

Manned combat aircraft seem like a complete waste of money at this point.

I grew up an aviation geek and remain one to this day.

Cliff Notes:
  • 2/3 the payload of the B2, but.... way more advanced, including laser capabilities.
  • way more stealth (90%+ coverage)
  • We get 100 of them
  • can have assisted high tech drone fleet for each plane
  • They use the same engine as the F-35 making maintenance much easier

This video below talks about the X-47B project now referred to as loyal wingman was brought about with the understanding of both stand alone and full autonomous operation. It became apparent that when you have many of these multimillion dollar drones running you need a human supervisor to insure the target legit and that no civilians are killed in the process such as private or commercial aviation gets caught in the process.

it might use the new engines being developed. XA100 and XA101

As it stands the F135 engine is actually under powered an runs very hot.

There was also going to be a B-21 fully drone version but it was canceled
