First, all of these fighters are skilled and have given much to us fans.
Second, I’m hoping what follows doesn’t sound like I’m kicking any of them. Just some observations.
Third, I know this isn’t some kind ground-breaking thread.

•Miguel Torres. There were many others amazing fighters before him but it seemed like he was a complete package for the time period...Torres was highly skilled, a killer and humble but changed camps and fell quickly thereafter.

•David Terrell. Had all the physical and technical ability to be a great but...Evan Tanner.

•Jamie Varner. A hammer that couldn’t summit the peak, maybe too in love with his hands.

•Paulo Filho. Lots of wows.

•Leonard Garcia. Started so many fights looking great.

•Roger Huerta. Sports Illustrated?! Can u imagine the pressure on that guy during that time period?! Basically anointed as the second coming. Not at all surprised by what happened given the workload that guy shouldered during that time period.

Others?

If Paulo Filho wasn't addicted to every drug on the planet he would've destroyed Anderson as easily as he destroyed the PRIDE 183lb division.
Come at me.

Such a bummer that we’ll never know

The list begins with Brandon Vera.

Igor Zinoviev. When he got slammed by Frank it ended his fighting career. I often felt he could have been Fedor like before Fedor.

It´s primarily rohypnol though...

Hatsu Hioki by a longshot. The dude would literally rip a dude apart, then go full retard the next round doing something completely different and ineffective.

Holy sh*t, you win Sherdog with that one! Props.

Other underachievers:

Assuerio Silva
Pelé
Kharitonov (!)
Tamura
Amar Suloev
