I mean look at that top 5
She was losing to Valentina and capitalized on 1 mistake Valentina made in the championship rounds.

Now she gotta beat Valentina AGAIN
And if she gets passed her look at the rest of the top 5, those girls are no joke

I don't honestly see Grasso as a champ for too long. She is not ending this year with the belt, watch

She was losing to Valentina? I thought Grasso was ahead in that fight and I wanted Val to win.

She earned her belt in a close fight that likely would've been 2-2 going into the 5th had Val survived.

Don't tell me how you scored round 1-3 judges gave Alexa round one, and 2+3 to Val, so if you say Val would've been up three you need to explain why should would've won the 4th.

Yeah the top of the FLW division is sneaky good now. What a difference from just a couple years ago when it was just Valentina and then fighters like Chookagian, Jessica Eye, Jennifer Maia, Joanne Calderwood. The belt will probably switch hands a few times over the next couple years.

She was losing but I don't think she was ever 'out of it' or getting 'outclassed' by valentina.

she won the first round in the striking and finished Val with grappling / BJJ.

she's very well rounded and will give Val problems in the rematch.

Yeah, she was. Kinda. She won the first, lost 2nd and 3rd and was losing the 4th until the backtake but that would have won her round 4.

*edit* So it would either have been 3-1 Val or 2-2 depending on how much of "if this didn't happen" you cut out of the fight.

That's part of being champ, but Alexa will do fine.

She matches up well against anyone and even if she loses, the fact that she was champion would likely see her fighting for the title again with 1 or 2 good performances.

Yeah, that’s where I was off. Thanks for clarifying what my brain meant. I’ve got a cold. You know us blokes don’t like to mention that but feeling dumber than usual today.

Nothing really happened in the 4th round until Grasso took her back. If she didn't finish it then presumably she would've had another 40 seconds choking her. You don't think that's enough to win a round that was close?

In the close round you don't think that would've won Grasso the round?

Shiit probably
I can't remember right now I gotta rewatch it but I believe Valentina was winning the whole 4th round until that backtake at the last minute
