Gracie Mat Making Process with subfloor

Has anyone here tried the Gracie style mat making process over a subfloor? You'd get the cost benefits with added safety. Please let me know how you did it. Thanks.

Not sure. But it's the set up with 2 sheets of plywood screwed together; the bottom set of plywood has polyethylene foam cubes glued on to absorb the shock of throws

Thanks fellas. However, I don't think my original question was as clear as I'd hoped. I'll try again: have you ever seen the two methods posted above combined by one school? Meaning the Gracie style matting on top of the subfloors. Thanks for the assist bros
