Didn't see a thread about this. But once again there's a possible US govt shutdown coming. The democrats are concerned with cuts to healthcare and neither side seems like they will budge.

In the end, I suspect Schumer and the democrats will cave just like they did 6 months ago when this happened last.

Lol... The Democrats are trapped. They can either agree to the deal the Republicans are offering or see massive furloughs for unessential bureaucrats who will never be brought back. This could mean the largest cut into D.C.'s power, control, and drain on the American economy than anything we've seen in our lifetimes.

The Democrats do realize it... and are now beginning to panic. They painted themselves into a corner.

Hilarious. So's your command of the English language.

Nothing on topic. You suck at this.
Wishful thinking if I ever saw it.

If there's a shutdown, responsibility for it rests on the Republican party. But their despicable partisan gaming of the system is the least of the shitty things they've done since the election, so they give zero fucks because by the time they face consequences, they'll have been doomed to face them anyway.

In for a penny, in for a pound, as it were.

This shutdown is brought to you by a feeble old Jewish stereotype who should be enjoying retirement, being deathly afraid a young woman from the Bronx taking his spot.

Yes.... yes... It's always the Republicans' fault. Silly Leftist.

It's politics. The Democrats can make a deal or see massive cuts in the bureaucracy they covet.

I’m confused. How are the republicans accusing the dems of the shut down when the republicans control the house, senate and presidency?
"Democrats, as the minority party in both the House and Senate as of September 30, 2025, can effectively force a government shutdown by leveraging procedural tools and strategic opposition, despite Republicans controlling the House (e.g., 220-215), Senate (53-47), and the Presidency. Here's how they can do it:
  1. Senate Filibuster Power: In the Senate, most legislation, including funding bills like a continuing resolution (CR), requires 60 votes to overcome a filibuster (cloture) under current rules. With only 47 Democratic senators, they can block a bill by refusing to vote for cloture, as seen when they rejected a House-passed "clean" CR on September 19, 2025, by a 48-52 vote (46 Democrats and 2 Republicans against). By withholding the necessary votes, Democrats prevent the Senate from passing a funding bill, halting government operations unless a deal is reached."

This administration is shepherding the greatest transfer of wealth in American history. 350 rural hospitals are at risk of immediate closure, with another 350 in the next couple of years. This is the leopards eating your face.

Yes, this is absolutely the fault of the Republicans, and the worst thing is that the very worst parts of Trump's bill are only scheduled to kick in after the primaries because they're going to hurt so many people.
