Got attacked by random cat

Lol , my son has a small , skinny tortoiseshell and they have a real bond, very much his cat , almost doglike with him.

However she has a heart murmur and had to see a specialist vet 30 miles away.

Except this tiny adorable bundle of fluff got banned as when the vet tried to get her heart checked she basically fucked up everyone in the vet's.

Seen it before when trying to get her in her cat carrier after we'd been on holiday. Took over an hour and a lot of scratches. The owner remembered us the next year and had welder gloves ready to handle her. However my son was there that time , cuddled her and fussed her for a minute then told her to go in the box and she did, no problem.

Seriously , don't fuck around with stressed cats , they'll fuck your shit up.
 
I like cats but they can be little kunts if they lose their shit, nails are so sharp
 
Do you honestly know what the odds are of that cat having rabies? Probably 1 in 100,000

it most likely doesn’t have rabies, but due to it being a feral and unless it has a microchip it will probably be euthanized and have the head sent in for rabies testing.

I'm up-to-date on my vaccinations. I cleaned the wounds with soap and water. I know about the bartonella henselae stuff. I don't think that usually requires treatment most of the time even if you get cat scratch disease, but I'll definitely keep that in mind.

So update... yes, that's what I thought would happen. I figured they would either keep it for observation or euthanize it for testing. Turns out they just told my wife it didn't have a chip, there was no easy way to test it, and sent her home. So we still have the cat in a cage. I guess I will try to watch it for the next week or so myself, then get rid of it. I know it's probably low risk, but I also don't want to take an unnecessary chance of dying. Wife has a coworker who wants to adopt the cat. It's a super cute grey tabby with blue eyes. So I'm sure things will be fine, and it will be out of here soon enough.

I adopted a feral cat a long time ago. At one time I was looking after 4 stray cats . Got scratched many times by the feral cat. It's not a big deal. Some people blow out of propotion the risk of rabies or some ailement.
