Gordon Rayn is back on the "Chicken and rice"

A good majority of fitness instructors and influencers don't actually want you to get healthy as that would put them out of business.

That's why they have their niches and secret systems they try and sell you up front as working instead of explaining the universal basic principles that actually work AND THEN trying to additionally sell you on the fact that they've just properly designed a good program/nutrition plan so you don't have to AND THAT's the service you're paying for.
Having spent many years in gyms watching personal trainers talk shit to clients for many years I can vouch for this. I just wonder why none of their clients stop to think why there are people in the gym who are twice as strong as them despite following completely different advice.

My favourite has to be all those "fat burning classes" gyms put on that are always absolutely packed with normal people sweating their dicks off doing 45 minutes of burpee circuits and what not. Meanwhile there's absolutely jacked monsters without an ounce of fat on them just casually walking around the gym between their sets never doing the class.

Like the disconnect should be obvious. Go ask them what they did to get their physiques so lean and why it's so different than what you're doing lol.

Also there's just plenty of trainers who truly have zero idea what they're doing but managed to get certified in some bullshit class. I have one friend who runs those types of classes and has looked the exact same, in not has gotten fatter, in the 6 years I've known her. She posts literally every day how hard she's working, what workout she's doing today, what supplements she's taking and when, etc. If you didn't have her Instagram and just saw her in person you'd literally never know she works out. Because yeah, when you actually know what you're doing you see that she's doing a bunch of nonsense that just makes her feel tired, gets her sweaty, and burns calories. But doesn't actually ever make her stronger hence why she's never improved her physique even though that's what she's trying to do.

Then come beach/cottage time every year she's shocked at my improved physique and wants to know what I'm doing (lifting a few times a week), eating (whatever fits my calories and macros), and taking (whey, creatine, and collagen) and says I'm so lucky to respond like that. Don't have the heart to tell her she's wasting her time and I'm not as she actually is super passionate about staying active and everything. What she's doing makes her happy, even if it's useless for improving her physique and she'd be much happier if she just did a Google search to figure out what progressive overload is.

I'm more mad at the people who ever certified her in all these bullshit things in the first place instead of teaching her what actually improves one's body. A good amount of trainers are knowingly scam artists just trying to keep clients longer. A good amount are also unfortunately unknowingly victims of scam artists themselves and just passing the scam down to other victims.

For real, if you want to just look good and to train a lot you get on those 6 days a week bodybuilding or powerlifting program

But if you want to get fit to do a sport, like in my case having the best cardio possible for grappling. Fonctionnal training, crossfit, tabata... are pretty good.

It will help you get relatively stronger, never as much as you would doing 2-3 hours a day of weightlifting, but most crossfit programs will get you stronger, there is always some weightling in the program

But the cardio and sweating of those workouts will help you improve your VO2 max for your other sport. I hate doing burpees, but I know that they make my BJJ rounds easier.

They can also help you to understand how you can push yourself.

I didn't say it was.. just a similar time period.. not exactly difficult to go back and watch the ADCC match results. Anytime over 20 he was a well built dude, but in his late teens he was built like a stick. Impossible to say when the steroids started. He just clearly amped them up at some point and has hindered himself it seems.
You're doing that shit where you're so fixated on your own thoughts and not listening to what someone is telling you.

I am DEFINITIVELY stating he started doing setroids after the first Pena fight.
2016. He would have been 21.
He has alluded to this numerous times.

He was not on steroids until he lost to Felipe and decided to do them because everyone else was. It's not "Impossible to say", you're just too stubborn to shut your brain off for 5 seconds and think about what someone is TELLING you

With 150k post and more time than anyone should ever spend on here, you think you'd be able to formulate a thought or post better.

I just re-read that entire exchange and what you're trying to point out isn't remotely clear.
I completely agree with this last post you just made. From even watching his matches in 2017 opposed to 2016 you can definitely see a major physique change. I still wouldn't be surprised if he was already on lesser gear earlier.

My girlfriend literally does the same thing. She does all those stupid classes and crash diets, meanwhile I just count macros loosely, lift relatively easily, do some Muay Thai and bjj but only twice a week or so, and yet can control my body weight to what I want it at during that time. Apparently it’s only because I’m a guy, you know.

That part will always be commendable, you don't just take them and suddenly have more muscles and cardio.
This is actually a myth. Fitness influences love to say it but there a scientific study showed you will gain more muscle roided out not lifting sitting on the couch than lifting natty (obviously lifting makes the roids work a lot stronger than the couch)

The thing that gets me is the amount of time people seem to spend in the gym just hanging around chatting or on their phones.

There's a group of lads in my gym who practically live there and have been turning up for years. None of them are any bigger than when they started but they spend almost all their time talking like a bunch of old women.

The other day one of them came up to me whilst I was deadlifting to ask me what weight was on the bar. When I told him it was 195kg he walked away in disbelief as if I was some kind of Nordic god. I just wanted to say to him 'look, if a 43 year old man like me can lift this weight then someone half my age should be able to do it no problem. 195 is not some kind of god tier strength it's just that almost all the time you spend here is completely wasted by chatting and checking your phone.'

I think some people are just idiots though so I didn't bother.

Why do you care so much how other people look?

Why do you care so much about what I think?
Just odd, the boomer “oh my god these teenagers are on their phones and not fucking lifting and getting biggerrrr arrgghh” shit is so weird to me. Like, who cares?

Matters when you’re waiting to use a machine , squat rack or bench cause a motherfucker decides to spend 30 min on a machine cause he spends 3 hours at the gym , 3/4 of which is on his /her phone . Some people like to get in and out , not spend all day at gym . But as far as what people do in the gym exercise wise or if the same people I see there don’t show any results ever ?! I give two fucks .

That's very different than "Ugh, i was checking some dudes out and they were across the room just having fun!"

He's the GOAT, but fucking lol at someone on that much gear talking about people who "haven't accomplished anything" chirping from the sidelines. You wouldn't have gotten to where you are either if you stayed off gear like they're doing to get through their lives.

Don't get me wrong, you still need an insane work ethic to really benefit from PEDs. That part will always be commendable, you don't just take them and suddenly have more muscles and cardio. You just recover and respond better to the work. The work still needs to be done though.

But you're talking shit about a regular office dude being a nobody when there's no equivalent Limitless brain drug that couldn't also make them the greatest analyst of all time if they could just blast away at it. They actually are getting by based on their natural talent. You're a better athlete than you actually should be because by contrast PEDs exist.

An unusually intelligent response here in Sherbro Land.
