I know the G Fiber is not expanded and died on the vine due to regulations. But I recently moved and guess what, where one of the last places to get fiber. Already had my fiber line run and I am just waiting for the actual installers, should be here next week. Then I will have 1,000 MB unlimited internet for the sum $80 a month, including a phone, with 1 TB of online storage included. Anyone else have fiber, mad they're not getting it, etc.?

Assuming the ISP isn't shit there is really little difference on speeds once you get above 30 mbps or so. You're biggest bottleneck is gonna be your home network itself...wifi for example.

My biggest win from this is the cost, I'm paying about 100 right now for 100 mb. I know my wifi will top out around 500 mbps but man, I'm paying less, getting more, and with one month free. Also Comcast here has a data limit of 1024gb a month, glad I can finally tell them to suck it.

Yeah $100 a month is crap. Comcast varies a lot by location or what deal you can get. With Comcast I'm paying around $70 a month for 260 mbps. I would have gone with FiOS for the 100 mbps plan at $60 per month but it was a clusterfuck trying to get the fiber to my place so I said fuck it.

Ive had it for a while now.

Probably overkill since i only use the internet to stream tv. But it has never been problematic

I currently have Fios gigabit internet and it costs me $80 bucks a month. I love it. I am going to miss it when I move at the end of the month.

ATT came through our neighborhood as G fiber was building their hub nearby, laid the fiber themselves and prevented G fiber from doing it.

I cant convince the wife to get the ATT fiber (same speed, slightly higher price) and im still pissed that att f*ucked our entire neighborhood out of it.

From what I read their shady tactics made it unfeasible for Google to actually install fiber in most cities, hence them basically dropping the program .
