Hopkins is pretty tall, he was only 1 inch shorter and had the same reach as Pavlik and Tarver.

Watch an old school Mike Tyson fight...but really, the most basic mistake shorter guys make is that they go for the other guy's head. Hit what's right in front of you, the body. It's a great way to close the distance to go for a head shot too.

You can't move your body like you can move your head, you're less likely to hurt your hand on a someone's body, and body shots add up. You can shake off a head shot, but give it a few rounds and those body shots hurt.

I've seen guys get knocked out or hurt badly from a head shot and come back to win the fight...when you see a guy go down from a body shot, he's most likely not going to win.
