This series, out of Italy, was mentioned by someone in @Loiosh 's TV series recommendations thread, so I checked it out; and holy shit is it awesome, figured it deserves its own thread.

I just finished season one, taking a little break to digest it before I jump into the next one.

The writing, acting, pace, story structure, music, quality of production, everything is top-notch.

If you like crime shows like The Sopranos, The Wire, The Shield, etc. this is definitely up your alley. Check it out. Netflix has the first two seasons up.

Shoutout to @nvs1985 for recommending the show in the thread I mentioned

Out of italy...is it in english?
I may check it out.

How does it rank compared to Suburra? To make the obvious Italian crime show comparison?

the show is excellent .

the cinematography is off the charts too.

the realism of the drive by shootings is chilling it goes from mundane to all out war in a second.

the accents are also good all the characters speak the dialect or regular italian based on their education level like a cop or white collar person uses a more educated accent than the gangsters.

the honduran slang and accent was also done well and performed well by the actor playing genny as opposed to a show like narcos which half assed and butchered all the accents in latin america.

it is a lot better but suburra was also entertaining the weird thing is gomorrah also has the city of ostia, rome which the show suburra is set in.they could film a crossover episode

Suburra is the ugly cousin of Gomorrah, cant compare.
Suburra is great if you have not seen Gomorrah.

Season 2 from Gomorrah is even better than the first one.

Cheers

Suburra the film was really good, it wasn't anyone's ugly cousin.

You will also like Suburra (both the tv series and the film of the same name).

Edit - should have scrolled through the comments first, I see others have mentioned Suburra!

This show has its own thread already bub

I turned this on and then shut it off. I wasn't in the mood for subtitles. Heard from a few different places the show is excellent

I dont think they ever go to Honduras in Narcos. And most of the actors on that show aside from Wagner Moura is a native Latin American spanish speaker, and well established in their careers.

Yeh I am hoping they do that. Suburra film is directed by Sollima, and Sollima has directed some episodes of Gomorrah TV show.
