All he has to do is provide his name, address and a reason for being out. At worst he gets a ticket and can then contest it at court.

Refusal to provide details for ID when committing an offence is an arrestable offence to confirm ID.

Whilst I don't agree with it, it's been tested in the high courts and is both an offence and legal under the Human rights laws Australia operates under.

If he is a backpacker he will potentially lose his visa. What a stupid thing to draw your line at. His own friend or partner is telling him to stop the whole time. he even says how dare you speak to white, irish people on the beach...

There was a story in the CBC about a moderna posing a 'small risk" for heart issues in teens and Ontario doctors recommending Pfizer over Moderna. It hasn't been paused like other countries are doing.

It's sovereign citizen crap. Common law doesn't grant you doesn't grant you the rights he seems to believe for starters, it's all in relation to the human rights charter here.

It's no different to believing you don't need to register your vehicle, hold a licence and are" a traveller." You support that crap?

Australia is unusual among common law countries in not having a Constitutional Charter or Bill of Rights.

However, common law courts have power to provide significant protection of human rights principles including the rule of law, except where legislation specifically overrides this power.

That's what all these people don't understand. Legislation can over ride common law here. All these powers RE: Covid have been written into legislation, which makes them legally enforceable. No issues with people stating they disagree with it, but do it in court when contesting the ticket, not on the beach based off some idiots YouTube video. It doesn't matter what I personally think about it. People are saying their rights are being infringed on, but they just don't understand what they traded for things like free health care and all that. You can't have everything.

This same type of guy will be happy to take the $25,000 + handed out to people last year during another states lockdown. People currently get paid up to $450 for a test. Backpackers are using it as a source of income by testing weekly... such a hard life...

They are doing the app thing I'm certain, Nsw is just getting a cop to check up on you in quarantine (call you and ask if you can come to the front or balcony) which they only really do if you miss the health official check up call and they think you're are dead.

What fantasy world are you living in? Show me where there is any legislated power to demand proof of vaccination at this time for Police? They are given the power to act on behalf of authorised officers.The only reason police ever became involved was because people threatened the auuthorised officers when they attempted to use their powers...

In Victoria people literally took over the Shrine of Remembrance, Rioted through the street assaulting people, kicking dogs,assaulting Police and took over the Westgate bridge, which is as close as Vic has to the Sydney Harbour bridge because there union didn't do exactly what that small violent minority wanted. This wasn't an hour delay. they took it over for 6 houurs, smashed bottles, pissed on the side of the road, before again attacking Police. When did we let violence decide what we do in the country?

There is nothing in Australian law that says you have free access to do what you want once you start committing offences. People just don't understand the law and think it's a tv show.
