My wife's friend just had her mom and dad, and 2 of her cousins all got it. 2 cousins not vaxxed, but younger and not obese, while mom and dad were both vaxxed. The family was put in a separate wing of the hospital and had the whole wing to themselves, so they could visit the dad. The mom was in the same wing, but went downhill fast and was on a vent. The dad was up and down, then got put on a vent. When he was put on, the mom died, so he missed her passing. He was slowly brought off the vent in the following days/weeks and then had to be told his wife died.
Our close friends, both very much obese, both got COVID while unvaxxed. She has no other worsening conditions besides being very very large, was out of energy and just felt bad. He has had trouble with his breathing in the past and had a CPAP machine, but gastric bypass and losing some of his weight helped that. He was ok for the first few days, then started coughing blood. He was taken in, admitted, had gotten pneumonia and blood clots. They pumped him full of shit and kept him over night. Cat scans the next day were very promising and he was sent home. They had about 1.5 weeks of absolutely no energy, then slowly started recovering their energy and being able to go do stuff after testing negative.
I have had a lot of relatives get it, quarantine themselves, and be absolutely fine on the other side of it.
