She applied the approach of no masking, no lockdowns and open travel until she started breaking records within Australia for covid cases. She applied the exact approach by red states until the hospitals were becoming overwhelmed and then she shut down. Her state also is responsible for the Victorian lockdown.
I like it being open personally, but you are equating her with the wrong side of politics within Australia. Labor are the left here. NSW then vaccinated their way out of the lockdown and halved their cases within a month by employing a strong vaccination protocol targeted primarily at children from 12 and up. I think Australia actually vaccinated more children than any first world country but I don't have stats to prove it.
That covid case record got beaten today in Victoria in a state that is in lockdown with nobody actually following the restrictions and being about 30 days behind that magic 70-80 percent mark of double dosing the population 16+. Seems to be working pretty well here, I just wish they rolled out the vaccine faster and we would be good to go and back to normal.

Highly effective.

Two of my parents' circle of friends got hospitalised with covid last week - both fully vaccinated. One died last night, he was 80 so he had a good innings to be fair and it sounds like he didn't suffer too much. The other is 68, he's on a ventilator but stable apparently.

It's almost like this virus is gonna hit the people it's going to hit, either way, right?
