I just got back from Chicago. I had fine meals at Prosecco and Kinzie Chop House. I prefer Lou Malnati's to Gino's East, but they're very different, ones got like a cornmeal crust, the other a very butter thick dough crust. They're impossibly heavy though, either way, so bring friends.

Are you staying downtown? I'd recommend Pizzaria Due on Ontario and Wabash.... or Gino's is good too. There's one not too far away from there on Superior.

Just stay out of the West and South Sides of the city and you'll be fine. Don't listen to these people that claim the whole city is overrun with gun fire. Most of the people who get shot are gang bangers and they all occur in the same few neighborhoods.

As for pizza, Lou malnatis on state street, between Roosevelt and Harrison is damn good.

I'd throw Auburn-Gresham in there for sure. Those are the three worst. Back of the Yards, Chatham and North Lawndale aren't great either.
