GOAT Mexican MMA fighter?

lol it's funny how you refer to Hispanic as it has anything to do with skin tone as opposed to "white"... Hispanic means you come or have some sort of background from a Spanish-speaking country. It has nothing to do with your degree of whiteness.
By definition I am hispanic since I am from Spain and I'm as white as any other Western European guy.
By the way, the first WHITE European born in USA was actually a Hispanic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martín_de_Argüelles
Thank you for your lecture to me about my own culture

I'd say CCC but Ricco Rodriguez deserves a mention as first Mexican UFC Champ.

He's from NorCal.
That's like really far.

I do understand it. My grandparents on one side are both Greek, and the other two are Irish.

However since I was born in, raised, and live in England I am English. I wouldnt dream of considering myself anything else.

If I was American with the same heritage I would probably have huge Greece and Ireland flags across my back lol.

It's just a different mentality you guys have, but it's ironic because even though Americans with ethnic backgrounds don't consider themselves American primarily. That whole mindset is distinctly American.

All valid points!
Keep in mind that the UK is very small compared to the US (to my previous statement)

In this case, all these fighters were born in what was historically Mexico. A better comparison would being born in Belfast or maybe Eastern Cyprus (correct me if I'm wrong, there.)

What always strikes me as odd is when Americans support foreign fighters (over Americans) due to the fact that someone in their family came from over there like 100 years ago.

Also funny when every single individual of Scottish heritage (for example) claims to be 100% Scottish... and of course descended from every great Scotsman/woman in history.... even the ones who were born after their ancestors left.

All that said, are you gonna tell me that your Giayia didn't stuff you with God knows what delicious Greek food when you were a kid, while your neighbors were eating beans on toast?

lol where the fuck are you from that Mexicans have to be born in Mexico?

I'm from Santa Ana, California and there's more Mexicans where me and Tito are from than there are in fuckin Mexico.
Thats the opposite of what i just said, Mexicans (by law) can be born everywhere, as long as they have Mexican parents they can get their Mexican passport and citizenship...thats what i just said.

Now you telling me, a Mexican, that you know more about Mexicans than me?? are you for real? If you are racist just say it, to you Mexican is a race, for an actual Mexican like Myself is a nationality, Tito and those that were born in California are not Mexicans.

I *could* be wrong, but I thought Cruz was fluent in Spanish, and occasionally did some kind of Spanish broadcasting thing. Again, could be wrong. Otherwise, agree completely. "Flexing" a fighter's nationality (lol, and failing) is always weak and cringe-inducing.

If I remember right, his fluency is more specifically topical than general.

If that's a joke, not funny but good try I guess. If genuine, then what does that have to do with anything at all?

Not meant to be funny.
My Mexican-American (dual citizen) daughter is not brown.
Generalizing all Mexicans as having darker complexions is reductive. And the fact that Cain has a "Brown Pride" tattoo has little to do with nationality.

Most likely you are, quick search on youtube returns Cruz talking on how "Mexican he is"...in English.

If you had a gang fight between Chicanos vs Legit Mexicans (born and raised in Mexico) --

Who wins?

Tito will always get props for coming out with the Mexican and American flags.

I don't give a shit how anyone identifies, and I don't claim to know more about Mexicans than anyone.

What I do know is how Mexicans born in America where I'm from (Southern California) identify. And that is as Mexicans. Not Mexican-Americans. I quoted a user in this thread who said exactly that. And I did field enumeration for the 2010 U.S. Census in Santa Ana, California. That is walking door to door and interviewing every Mexican family about all the occupants of their home.

Well, in 2022 there are men that identify themselves as women and viceversa...so yeah, those are not Mexicans, they are Americans or Mexican-Americans if you care about someone's "heritage".
