I'd say CCC but Ricco Rodriguez deserves a mention as first Mexican UFC Champ.

Ricco imo beat Big Nog in Pride but the judges were crooked/biased.

lol it's funny how you refer to Hispanic as it has anything to do with skin tone as opposed to "white"... Hispanic means you come or have some sort of background from a Spanish-speaking country. It has nothing to do with your degree of whiteness.I am half hispanic and half white grew up in an all white school and definitely felt stuck in the middle when it came to being around my classmates and being around my 100% hispanic family members who were fluent
McGregor is just as Mexican as Tito, if not more so.
I would had to disagree here, Cain is/was barely known here and Moreno is still behind him, even when he is an actual Mexican. What? I don't know but i have never seen Cruz or Tito as mexicans lol. Have they even leaned into that?
Maybe Cain because he does speak some spanish and did pay homage to Mexico when he fought + the UFC pushing him into the mexican market
But in the end i have to say Moreno. The guy is huge in Mexico. Bigger than Cain ever was. And he's a damn good fighter
While there are Mexicans that were born in the US, yes, by law they can still get a Mexican passport and citizenship, why dont you just say Mexican-Americans? There is only one possible Mexican GOAT, thats Moreno, the only Mexican who has touched gold, the others are still far behind him.
Mexican American here. We consider our self mexican because of our heritage and family who’s Mexican. I’m American I was born here but I’m still mexican even tho I don’t ever go to Mexico.
It’s not like saying I’m mexican cuz I’m from that country more just cuz we have mexican blood. It’s not a national thing. It’s more a family thing. War breaks out between both country’s Im not picking Mexico. But I am mexican and will gladly represent the motherland.
lol where the fuck are you from that Mexicans have to be born in Mexico?
I'm from Santa Ana, California and there's more Mexicans where me and Tito are from than there are in fuckin Mexico.
*Mexican/American flagTito came out with a Mexican flag for every fight bro.
Just because he's got bad aim doesn't mean he's a bad role-model.
It's funny because "I'm whatever my heritage is" is actually an incredibly AMERICAN phenomenon. Italian Americans calling themselves Italian, Irish Americans calling themselves Irish, Mexican Americans calling themselves Mexican.
Nobody else does this, to us foreigners you are all just American.
Cain: Born (and raised) in the states to an American mother and a Mexican immigrant father--> doesn't speak Spanish
CCC: Again, born and raised in the states; and actually competed as an American in various international competitions.
Cruz: Born and raised in the USA; not fluent in Spanish
Jacob "Tito" Ortiz again born in the states. No habla espanol
Moreno's the only one on your list who was actually born in and/or ever even lived in Mexico.
Yair would probably rank #2.
Sorry, but explaining to your parents that the huge guy with the "Brown Pride" tattoo across his chest, who just got busted for pulling a gun on, shooting at, missing, and hitting a relative of, an alleged. . . that's not a good look no matter what. Shooting/hitting innocents in public . . . he's basically being the *exact* stereotype of the kind of people who are suspicious/bigoted towards Mexi-Americans, and that's a bummer.
Tell that to anyone in a country that has a far right political wing and a large immigrant population.
That said, it does make a bit of sense due to the fact that most of us immigrated to fairly distinct ethnic communities within the last 350 years and we've had pretty strong segregationist policies (official or not) even as little as 30-40 years ago.
It's a big country, too; and since Mexico used to be ~ 2 times its current size...
CCC and Kelvin Gastelum are the only ones fluent in Spanish of the Mexican-American bunch that I can think of...I *could* be wrong, but I thought Cruz was fluent in Spanish, and occasionally did some kind of Spanish broadcasting thing. Again, could be wrong. Otherwise, agree completely. "Flexing" a fighter's nationality (lol, and failing) is always weak and cringe-inducing.
