Media GOAT Manager Ali takes swipe at Masvidal

You answered your own question :)

so he got 500k for nate which he was very very happy with and bragging. then he gets offered 500k to fight Usman and suddenly its not enough.

And that's the cruz as to why he is full of shit.

if hes getting 500k per fight n signed a 8 fight deal, don’t see what’s hes complaining about?

that’s probably one of the best deals out there

And that's the point. He's bitching and moaning to pretty much everyone.

Nunes got 350k plus a win bonus at UFC 250 and she is a 2 division champ.

Gaedjthe made 350k for his interim title match with Ferguson at UFC 249

Cejudo made 350k for his win over cruz, again a 2 division champ

Adesanya, the MW champ made 500k for his fight with Romero

This is different though.

Masdival needs to be paid twice, effectively.

First for the fight itself (say $250K-$500K), plus an additional amount to make up for future lost earnings when Usman derails his hype-train (say $500K-$1M)

So in total it doesnt make sense unless he's getting 1 million, maybe 1.25 million to fight Usman.

most of those guys have PPV points, jones only have a disclosed pay of 500k and he said he's making 5 mil a fight, so who knows how much those guys and masvidal are really paid

He talked to Brett Okamoto and he explained that they tried to do the same shit with Khabib, making him sign an 8 fight deal. Ali had to fight his (Khabib's) ground. Even star champs are not exempted from that shit, pretty sad.

Usually takes the biggest scumbag to be a hell of a manager . From what I seen , a majority of his guys seem to be happy with their deals . Shit person but I would want him as my manager tbh .
He is not even close to being the "biggest scumbag". Those are the managers who make their own fighters fight out of their prime and get the benefit.
His fighters get easy fights, titleshots, they retire early, etc. He treats his fighters really really well. Not a scumbag to them.

Well obviously he’s not contracted for 500k per fight for 8 fights if he wasn’t offered 500k at first for usman....

How do you know he's a "shit person"? Did you know him in person?

Proof?

Show me where they have points. Since the ESPN deal got signed the UFC doesn't have the same onus to get high numbers of PPV buys. Lesnar flat out said they wouldn't give him points any longer because of the way PPV events were structured and that's a big part of why he decided not to return.

I am sure there are guys getting points or some kind of extra compensation but I expect there are only a handful of fighters on the entire roster that make 500k a fight and a lot of them are champs that don't have 13 losses.

Lesnar wanted a flat rate, not ppv points. His flat rate request was too high. It’s related to the switch to ESPN but it wasn’t that they wouldn’t give him points. Apparently.

And I expect Masvidal is full of shit.

He was bragging about his pay and new contract just before the Diaz fight. He was mighty happy then. Now? 7 months later? Hmmmm
Maybe he though he was making good money and found out what others are making.

I have told this before. Could you imagine LeBron finding out he was just the third highest paid player on his team, while having been told by his coach that he was the highest paid player in the league? That happened to Gordie Howe in the 1960s. Gordie was naive, of course, but it could only happen because NHL salaries weren't divulged. The owners wanted it that way because it keeps salaries low.

Screw the union. Make pay public. The NBA, NFL, NHL, Major League baseball, actors, etc. all have their pay public because it benefits them. Mario Lemieux had a contract that gave him a million dollar more than whatever Wayne Gretzky was getting, ffs. It's the same with everything. From houses to art. Everybody gets it except MMA fighters.

Most people do not know what their colleagues or peers make.

Journeyman maz doesn’t deserve shit. It’s the fans’ fault for buying into mediocre fighters like maz and conor that messes like this are happening in the first place.

the Jon Jones thing tho I dunno... 5 mil a fight for a repeat cheat offender sounds fair to me. He should be grateful he’s not lifetime banned from all athletics and grateful he’s not in prison
