I've been coming Sherdog for years and up to this point I've been content just reading some of your takes.

However, I've noticed a topic/label that gets thrown around way too much and I need to say something.

Can everyone stop throwing around the term "GOAT" at the drop of a hat?

Right now the board is littered with Connor "GOAT" threads. Are you people serious? I'm a Connor fan but the guy has never even defended his title.

It seems like a lot of MMA fans are on this weird quest to find the "GOAT". Just let a guys careers play out before even bringing up GOAT discussion.

As for Connor I like him, but If he loses tomorrow hell just be a flash in the pan.

So please, those of you that are so desperate to find the "GOAT" save yourself from looking stupid and just remove the term from your vocabulary.

As soon as you suggest anyone to stop doing something, usually what takes place is the opposite. As for (GOAT) status, it is merely subjective and it isn't debatable because what usually happens is one's selections of whom deserves to be (GOAT) will never usually be similar to the other. Seemingly endless arguments arise and its fruitless. (GOAT) status will end up depending on the viewers experience with MMA in general.

This hero worship shit. Since most of the world is slowly but finally catching on that there is NO invisible savior in the sky watching over them people seem to be looking elsewhere. It's some seriously sad pathetic commentary on life that talking about some whacked little man like McGregor like it is so interesting to be him, look up at him it is sad and a bit pathetic to live vicariously through his accomplishments instead of creating ones own worthy accomplishments. Yes he has money, he has rental cars, this and that but he is still simply just a guy. He talks a ton of shit for being so small (comparatively) to the rest of the sports world and to have a bunch of people eating up the shit he says. I can respect his talent in the sport, but it ends there for me. He is still a pretty shitty little human the way he acts. Yeah, he just doesn't do anything for me.

As of today, only 4 fighters can be considered GOATs. GSP, Fedor, Anderson, Jones.

Not even close, he's never defended a title, he's barely ever fought anyone his own size even. He is not even close to the GOAT discussion
True. But of we ask him...
