Gluten free diet

What s the dufference between gluten and carbs? All gluten are carbs but not vice versa?

TBH my rules are the following, outside of these I eat everything:
- avoid processed foods
- avoid added salt
- avoid added sugar
- eat meat in moderation
- limit alcohol

Oh and BTW some foods are literally toxic : smoked salmon and salami for example have like 4% salt content and generally cold cuts and bacon are filled with preservers (nitrate) that cause cancer.

Lastly most would be surprised at the salt content of bread. It‘s on par with chips on average.

It’s amazing that humans went all these centuries eating gluten just fine until health “experts” got involved.

Ah that old argument.

I mean, humans went centuries living in caves and makeshift camps, doesn't mean we should reject hot-running water, central heating, driving cars etc as science advances.

Most things we rely on every day in our daily routine, have only existed for a small percentage of humanities existence.

Toothpaste? Pasteurisation? Penicillin? Nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell, even gluten itself only entered our diet relatively recently in our (circa) 250,000 years of existence.

That said, I love that shit.

And what exactly are the benefits you've read about by omitting one specific protein complex from your diet, absent a celiac diagnosis?

WTF.. Gluten is not even a carb... gluten is a protein contained in certain cereals.

It seems like a creative way to go out of the closet.

The wheat in the US is not the same as the stuff our ancestors ate. Now it's genetically modified and contains more gluten than ancient wheat and it's sprayed with herbicides. It's all controlled by one main company, Monsanto, who is owned by Bayer, the drug company who is the parent company of pfizer. Basically, they are poisoning dumb Americans with gmo poison spray slop and then they prescribe a bunch of medications to 'fix you'

Gluten and wheat are probably fine in other parts of the world. It's the Monsanto GMO crops like wheat, soy, and corn that are causing health issues.

Anyone ever try a gluten free diet just out of curiosity? I been reading more about the possible benefits of going gluten free and im gonna give it a try. See how my body responds and if I see any changes.

Today is day 1 gluten free

Anyone try this?
Depends some people can't digest certain parts of wheat or have allergies. My diet is mainly fruit, chicken, potatoes and some fish.
If you have the issues go away like gas, IBS, being tired but you'll eat more.

I have coeliac disease so have to avoid gluten. My normal main mean is typically chicken/meat and rice with veggies so all GF anyway. I don't think it's too difficult to adjust once you get used to it.

I do miss having a cold beer as GF beer is much more expensive. Also treats like chocolate biscuits. But its definitely better than enduring some of the crippling stomach aches I've had in the past.

Id only recommend going Gluten-free if you have celiac's disease or a severe gluten intolerance.

Your body has what's called a non-resiliant enzyme to break down Gluten (and for dairy too). But if you stop eating gluten for awhile... that enzyme recognizes it's no longer needed, and goes away. When you reintroduce gluten... that enzyme may come back, but it might take awhile.. or it may never return and now everytime you eat gluten you are running for the bathroom.

Many people in today's society that have dairy or gluten intolerance sadly due to fad diets have done it to themselves.
You hit nail on the head. I was younger and doing all these silly extreme diets deliberately never eating pasta bread pizza etc. Im sure I therefore caused it doing this.

I've cut out all grains and most added sugars and processed meats. Lost weight and body feels much better.

Unless you have celiac disease any benefit you get from it is because gluten free foods aren't processed like everything else people normally eat. You will probably feel alot better but it won't be from lack of gluten.

I've done keto and carnivore. There weren't any glutens harming me. Good times.

This year, I decided to enjoy bread again.

I have not. And I thought it was mostly BS until a friend of mine reported getting really good results from it. He is a generally sensible, level headed, and critical thinking type of guy so I figure there is probably something to it.
