Anyone ever try a gluten free diet just out of curiosity? I been reading more about the possible benefits of going gluten free and im gonna give it a try. See how my body responds and if I see any changes.

Today is day 1 gluten free

Anyone try this?

You probably want to research if all that dick you suck fits in the diet.

I jest, fellow Sherbro! I jest!

I hear a gluten free diet eliminates testicular cancer because your balls will be in your wife's purse

The first time I heard about the gluten free diet was my wife telling me her sister was doing it.

I said, “You mean glutton free, right? She’s trying not to eat a ton of cake and pie with every meal, on top of the 4 glasses of wine she has with each?”

Sigh...I guess if u have to load up on Potatos and meat and stop reading your wife's girly mags they are not for you.

Id only recommend going Gluten-free if you have celiac's disease or a severe gluten intolerance.

Your body has what's called a non-resiliant enzyme to break down Gluten (and for dairy too). But if you stop eating gluten for awhile... that enzyme recognizes it's no longer needed, and goes away. When you reintroduce gluten... that enzyme may come back, but it might take awhile.. or it may never return and now everytime you eat gluten you are running for the bathroom.

Many people in today's society that have dairy or gluten intolerance sadly due to fad diets have done it to themselves.

Good luck. Hope the gluten free diet works well for you. I have an IBD condition and have found avoiding all grians to be helpful for my condition. It hasn't been a cure but has improved myhealth.

My sister has been on one for about 10 years and feels much better than she had.

It’s amazing that humans went all these centuries eating gluten just fine until health “experts” got involved.

By "experts" you mean doctors?

Yeah, I'm guessing there wasn't too much research on gluten intolerance a few centuries ago. Cool that we have it now and people and people with these issues can feel better, or not?

No reason to do it unless you are gluten intolerant.

Celiakia used to be a much more rare, but deadlier desease. People's digestive systems just shut down and they died. My doc told me about it. Now we have mild cases, but much more frequent.

Wife is celiac. Fucking pain in the arse . You don't realise how much food contains gluten until you start analysing all the labels and going out for a meal is hard going . Can't even have a bowl of chips ( fries) as a lot of them are prepared in areas that have a possibility of cross contamination.

The alternative foods like bread taste like cardboard.

My suspicion is that there is corruption going on with doctors and the gluten test they perform. With most allergy or sensitivity food testings you are told to avoid the food/spice for a period of time (1 to 2 months) and if you feel better keep avoiding. At least that was my experience.

Wheat is treated differently. Doctors say to determine if a person has a wheat gluten problem, an upper GI exam is necessary. The test takes about 30 minutes and costs around $3000 to $10,000. During the test a small sample from your intestine is removed. From that intestinal sample they say they are able to determine if a person has a problem with wheat gluten or not.

A problem is that the upper GI test is not definitive. What the doctors are looking for might not be found on the sample. As doctors say the intestine can be spotty. Some parts of the intestine might be damaged, and other parts not damaged. Additionally other foods, or even a common cold might cause the damage they are looking for.

All my gluten/wheat tests came back negative. I had 4 tests done in my youth. Today, learning what I suspect is going on, if another doctor suggested I have an upper GI wheat test done I'd tell him I'm not interested. Even though all my wheat gluten tests came back negative, I have one diagnosis from a doctor of having a problem with wheat gluten. That is due to me feeling better after i avoided wheat.

There is little doubt that wheat and other grains are a problem for some people. Doctors great attention to wheat though might be due to the special wheat test they can perform and be paid well for. The test makes them good money and does not take long to perform. If insurance companies and government health agencies stopped paying for the upper GI wheat gluten test I suspect that most "essential" upper GI scope wheat testings would stop. Wheat testing then would be similar to other types of foods, avoid for a month or two and see if you feel better or not.

My daughter has coeliac so she's gluten free, I don't really see the point unless you do too really.
