ya he has shown good recovery.

I'm just a realist man. I simply wouldn't bank on that thing from what I've seen at least.
 
Nobody's quite sure. His first loss (in his first fight) was by TKO, otherwise he's survived anything that anybody threw at him, so I'd say it's been good enough so far. We've seen him get staggered by lesser fighters, which doesn't bode well for him fighting the top 5 kind of guys, but I think he'll be able to hang for a while against most.

But getting clipped a couple of times certainly doesnt make someone have a "bad chin" either.
Come on, he's undefeated in his past 20 matches. If he had a bad chin he'd DEFNETLY had been ko'ed or tko'ed sometime before.

He can get clipped. Yes. And probably tko'ed aswell since a lot of those starts with a clipping. But I personally dont think his chin is all that bad.

He haves great recovery though. Reminds me a bit of Cain.

and that's a lot of where my doubt comes from. guys who get hit a lot and show a tendency of vulnerability to getting hurt. what comes after that? knockout losses

I'm not saying he has a glass chin. but he's a guy who's already show susceptibility in that aspect, and he hasn't even been in there with true top dogs that can take advantage.
 
He has an OK chin, not the greatest one, but far from being bad, because he had been rocked a little before and had recovered immediately.
 
Jones Elbows and Head Kicks will KO or TKO Glover, Gus has a far superior chin then Glover and Gus is overall better, IMO i think Gus would outclass Jds.. We all know that both Gus and Jones will eventually move to Heavyweight
 
I think his chin is very good. It's gonna take a very hard punch to put him out.
 
He's 5-0 in the UFC with 4 finishes and the only decision coming by way of Rampage, whom Jones had to take to the 4th round (Rampage/Teixeira was 3 rounds) and hasn't been stopped once. He may have been hurt, but that doesn't mean he has a bad chin. If anything, I think his defense needs work (though his fighting style sort of relies on taking shots and dealing back more powerful ones).

His chin is probably not the greatest ever but to call it bad is a huge stretch.
 
I wouldn't worry about his ability to take a good shot, I'd worry about his ability to take multiple given how slow he is and the fact he's actually facing some high level talent for the first time in his career. He's a gatekeeper to the top 10 at most.

Don't think it's bad, but I don't think it's good either. Below average but decent recovery. I think it's probable that Jones can KO Glover.
 
To answer the OP, I think his chin is very solid as well as his recovery.

Almost as ridiculous as some guy saying Gus is the gatekeeper to the top 5.
 
He's got an average chin. If it was weak we'd see him drop and look dead like Chuck, Arlovski and even Erick Silva getting laid out. Having an average chin and being hittable isn't a good combo.
 
Glover's chin isn't paper or anything but guys like Gus and Jones can finish him(disregarding reach)not because he necessarily is outgunned in terms of power but because they can take Glover's best shots while I doubt Glover could. Bader's pretty powerful but at LHW there's quite a few guys with heavier hands and if Bader can do that to Glover the top guys will murder him.

Who at Light Heavy has Heavier Hands then Bader ? You could say Jimmi I guess but his victories have all been injuries to his Opponent rather then pure KO's .

Shogun - Still has the power in his Knee's and Kicks but I don't think his hands are particularly heavy anymore .

Hendo - maybe he has a heavier Right hand but he hardly gets to use it anymore due to age and poor gameplanning.

Glover - For sure and he's the Number 1 Contender.

Gus - Has KO'd Opponents but I'd say Bader probably has more One Punch KO Power in his Hands although Gus is Superior in every other way possible , Footwork , speed , chin , Heart , TDD .

Machida - Now at Middle weight .

Sonnen - Heavy Hands are not associated with Mr Sonnen .

Lil Nog - MIA . But he'd probably be up there.

Rashad - Has a decent Overhand Right but I don't think he can Generate Bader Level Power.

Perosh - We'll soon Find out .. He could be the Dark horse of LHW in terms of Heavy Hands.

Jimmo - KO'd Perosh but poor against Jimmi and average against Te - huna .. Decent to Medium Level power but showed good accuracy and power in the Perosh fight to be fair .

Te Huna - Same Level Power as Jimmo I'd say.

I think Bader probably hits harder then almost any LHW imho but I agree that Jones and Gus would both destroy Glover. Due to superior skill .. Nothing else , Glover has a Average chin imho.


TL : dr - Bader has some of the best hands in the division , Jones and Gus would both Destroy Glover although he has an average Chin.

They could probably take Phil 'pillow fists' Davis' best shots, for example :icon_lol:

Glover hits way harder than Gus and Jones and has more KO power. I only see Hendo matching him at LHW in terms of striking power.

Glovers chin is fine not "weak". He'll show up to the bones fight in his best shape ever and he will respect bones standup. Interested to see if glover can keep the fight standing more than worried bout his chin.
