Media Glover Teixeira shuts down intimidation by Cutelaba "not today"

Probably better to be known as an unstoppable smeshing machine that beats the best of the best than the loud barking fool that everyone enjoys watching get smeshed. But bad press is better than no press these days I guess.

That's what infuriates me as well.
It's no longer "I want to be the best". Now it's "I want to be famous"! And if I can get fame for being a dumb piece of shit, then whoopeee I'm in!
Imagine living in a world of Cutelabas and Covingtons - that's where we're heading!

I dont see them as the same. Cutelaba would do that in front of 3 people. Its just his style.

People look for a psychological advantage wherever they can get it.

Some people are uneasy around people like this, and that can sometimes work to Ion's advantage. But its not contrived like Covington's words. Its all direct action. Wether its for show or not,he is actually doing it.

Sucks that one of Jan and Glover has to lose, they are both so likable. Rare that two fighters as likable as they are fight each other.

Ill feel that way when jiri has to face either of them as well.

Now.. I hope Glover does the same thing on Saturday.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jan. But pulling for Glover here. Be a great story.

He's a big outsider too, I'm going to bet with my heart and not my head and multi he and Hooker.

I am disappointed that a Fedor fan would defend Cutelaba's asshattery :P

Why not? Fedor is my favorite fighter, but that does not mean every fighter in the sport should act exactly the same way.

Why be something that you are not?

Glover did well in the end but lets not act like unranked Cutelaba didn't put a 10-8 round on him.

The difference between that version of Ion and the Champ is 1 has cardio & fight IQ, & the other thinks he is the incredible Hulk.

Didn’t he but shot him or foul him too?

Every fighter in the sport should act exactly like Fedor because that's how a professional acts.

I know the reality is different but sportsmanship and respect should not be a matter of preference or taste - it should be required and expected. Punished if not adhered to. That's my stance.

I think that this game is too wild and dangerous to ever be that way all the time.

on top of this, you have to accept the fact that many fighters are coming from troubled backgrounds, have done time in prison, and are violent people..and they have come to MMA or boxing and so on to try to use their natural aggression in a place where it is accepted.

Fedor comes from discipline. He served 2 yrs in the military and came up in combat sambo, where they absolutley instilled respect and discipline in him,and he has tried to show a positive image for his country. Plus he is naturally a calm cool collected person, slow to anger.

Not everyone is coming at it from this angle. We have people who have been, jumped, abused, been through the ringer. We have to let these types in too though. They cannot be excluded. The will to fight is there. The chance for betterment. Also sometimes these people win on blood and guts violence rather than technical brilliance and calm counterfighting.

In this life you will eventually have to face someone a foe you are unfamiliar with, who is in an opposition to you in mentality, lifestyle, and so on. This is all part of the challenge.

Khabib will have to face someone like Conor, and vice versa. The challenge is to be able to win without emotions halting progress. This is why you cannot exclude these kinds of things. You have to let someone be the monkey wrench in the natural order of things, and let it play out.

Ion's strength is that he is quite unpredictable,or at least was. I think people know what to expect now haha.

That reaction from Rountree is classic. I must save this for laughs when I'm down.

Cutelaba does this to everyone and I've still yet to see anyone actually look scared of him when he does so!

Like at first,i thought,is this guy retarded,or insane?? lol

but after seeing some of his antics at the weigh ins,i realize that he's just doing this on purpose cos it amuses him,and it makes him memorable. He's that guy that does that.

Like I seen him shake hands with people after the weigh ins,the guy isnt THAT unstable. He seems fully aware of what he's doing, and I think he gets a kick out of it.

And frankly,so do I.

I respect your response.

It's funny how loud mouths have a tendency to give up and offer neck for a RNC.
