I’ve also heard that Tarik Khbabez will likely defend his LHW-title in a rematch against former champion Sergej Maslobojev on this card, with former Middleweight title challenger Michael Boapeah set to face Ștefan Lătescu in his second LHW fight, according to the same rumors.
Additionally, GLORY Heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven is expected to appear on the card, probably against a big name (potentially one from the MMA-world?)

Co-main event: Ștefan Lătescu (Romania) vs Michael Boapeah (Netherlands/Ghana)

Any idea what this 'Glory Underground' label is? Really excited for this rematch and the full card! Wish I lived in Florida so I can go, but Miami is a 14 hour drive from where I live
<DCrying>
GLORY Underground is a series of events that GLORY is hosting at Jake Paul’s ‘Betr’ warehouse in Miami, which is similar to the UFC Apex in that it’s a more cost-effective venue.
GLORY aims to increase exposure and build their brand in America, and this seems to be their way of starting that without too much financial risk.

At least for the first event, it’s not open to the general public, but instead it’s an invite-only event for celebrities, influencers, and others.
The inaugural GLORY Underground event on May 1 will take place during the same week as the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix (on Thursday), so there should be plenty of celebrities in town at the time.

I think just getting name-dropped by Jake Paul and co would be a huge deal for them.
Let’s see how the event goes and how their future in the U.S. develops!

It's not a bad idea. At least better than just throwing a full on event at a stadium like MSG and hoping for the best.

Uh... who?
He’s Jake Paul’s friend, and working for Betr.
Doubt he’s actually going to fight… bc he can’t fight for shit, lol.

I believe it will be for some kind of promotional work between GLORY and Betr, which would be really cool (especially to get more traction in the US). I’ve heard they’re also going to make a documentary, including all the Last Heavyweight Standing events that’ll take place this year.
That’s probably why Betr’s Derek and Jojo are on a plane to the Netherlands as we speak, to attend this weekend’s GLORY-event, make content, and work on that documentary

Idk what y'all think of Jake Paul on the other side of the pond, but anyone in the US who's not on his payroll thinks he's a complete laughingstock. I get GLORY taking some investments from him, but doing promotional work with the cringiest personality in combat sports and his friends... Not a good move in my opinion. I hope it helps them, but if GLORY goes the Karate Combat route, I'll likely just skip their cards and catch the fights once they get posted on YouTube.

The Karate Combat route, in what way?

Cringey presentation heavily sponsored by cryptobro personalities and the other types in that space
Sure hope it doesn’t turn into that kind of thing, but at the same time also doubt it will, that won’t work.
I suppose GLORY has made good plans and know what they’re doing here, let’s see :)

Betr is actually the headquarters of Jake Paul's betting company. Glory Underground will probably be a series of events, including in the Netherlands from what I hear.
