News GLORY Last Heavyweight Standing Tournament 2025

This is quite ambitious given the state of HW Kickboxing in general. Gonna be some serious bum swing action and hopefully KO's to go with it.

I don't think so, it's just one fight. Three rounds. They generally come prepared here in Glory and more bonuses are in discussion too. Plus a qualification. Superkombat did this and they built new names.

And the new rule bros! #clinching
Lol, don't mind me dude. I'm just being a d#ck. I'll definitely be tuning in.

So, clinching? Like the old school k-1 rules, or straight muay thai without elbows?

Any chance of you guys sharing talent with K-1 Japan group? It would be cool to see guys like Liu Ce and Ariel Machado fight in this.

Here is what Glory put on their website about the rules changing. In short, one strike after clinching and then you must release. They also changed the scoring a bit too

Thus far Ben Sadik and Rade Opacic are the favorites. Rade is to long for Rajabezdah.

Levi Rigters is out with shoulder injury.
Nordine Mahieddine didn't prolong with the organization.
Rico Verhoeven seems to be favored and will not enter the tournament, but he will receive a title match.

Andrei Stoica also is out with a groin injury. His contract with ONE expires on February 25th. Although he could appear in Stage 2.

A FUCK NO!

This shit ruined K-1.

Dumbest decision Glory has made in a long time. Very disappointing.

Look forward to referees having to get overly involved in the fight and disrupting the flow.

So far we have 31, guys, soon Glory will publish the full list

The K-1 champ is here

Nabil Khachab hasn't extended yet, but he wants to fight!

Rigters (Polanen) will likely enter Stage 2.

Yeah, on paper I see what they're going for, but rules like these live and die by how well the referees can officiate the match. Glory's referees have never been great, but got much worse after they switched sanctioning bodies. I don't have much faith in the changes at all

We all lived through this already when K-1 changed their rules, and it resulted of years of annoying referees running into separate fighters "BREAK"..... "BREAK".....

I thought Glory already had the perfect compromise between allowing for attacks within the clinch while limiting the time people could stay locked up. It's only natural for fighters to end up clinching at points in a fight, you'll never be able to avoid that.

And what changed now? I can't recall any recent fights with excessive clinching. We had more of that back in the days of Artem Levin and Simon Marcus.

What's next, only a single collar hold?

Haven't really noticed this myself. Also ISKA times had plenty of fuckery happening and I'm not entirely sure if Glory gets that much of a say in events held in the Netherlands anymore anyway.

We can't complain. The field is very good, even if not the best. But you can't really sign all the untapped talent.

Only 3 indispensable names are missing, 2 of them are injured and Plazibat is even long-term. However, there is still a Stage 2!

Something potentially interesting, plus big boys from One Championship. War guys!
