RONDA ROUSEY PUTTING WMMA ON THE MAP IS REVISIONIST HISTORY AND UFC PROPAGANDA

CARANO IS THE FEMALE WHO PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL!

Cyborg/Carano broke records for Showtime
Beat the previous record of Slice/Abbott in 08
736k Gate; 856k viewers of the main event on a network of only 21 million.
This is better than almost all recent Bellator gates and rivals modern UFC events.

Rousey took it to a new echelon, but Carano was the spark.
WMMA took it's turn from non-existent obscurity to being known.
Ronda rode on Carano's coattails.

Q: Do you really think Rousey would have pulled those numbers with Cyborg in Strikeforce back then?
A: PFFFTT!

Lol nobody knows who Gina is except for a few forumdwellers.

Ronda is a megastar. There's a reason Gina fought in lesser organizations for peanuts whereas the UFC rolled the red carpet out for Ronda and paid her millions.

Comparing apples to oranges. Gina played her part. Ronda took it to the next level to the mainstream audience.

What a shit rebuttal compounded by a shit sarcastic joke. How about adding a little pizazz and brevity instead of projecting your feeble insecurities.

Rousey did to WMMA what BJ did for Lightweight; they existed prior, but nobody really cared until they came along. Rousey also got a lot more mainstream press thgan any other UFC fighter prior.

She's not the first, but she's the most significant.

Gina wasn't popular outside MMA circles. No one knew her. And the fact that both Gina and Cyborg fought smaller girls at higher weight class meant that WMMA was never taken seriously. Ronda and Meisha brought legitimacy to the sport.

And you thought this needed a thread in 2016 because?

Gina was to WMMA, as a basketball is to the WNBA.

Looks like somebody's feelings are hurt lol
