Gilbert Burns is a glass cannon

Ya that's the consensus pretty much
On the feet or on the ground, Khamzat is just too powerful and pair that with his confidence, Burns won't have any time to get his offense going

Like 10 seconds into the match, Burns is on his back eating deadly ground n pound

If the fight makes it past round 2, I definitely see Burns getting some momentum going, and even dropping Khamzat. But I just think Khamzats aura right now is too strong, his confidence and relentless pressure will result in an early KO

But people are really sleeping on Burns, he's so explosive and Khamzat leaves himself open a lot in the stand-up. People overestimate his stand up a lot because of his power, his defense is pretty bad.

Already trying to discredit Khamzat if he wins. The built in excuse is pretty lame. Sherdog gonna sherdog

Off the top of my head, I think the one that landed on George had much more pop to it, like Usman threw everything into it. Also it landed on the chin directly, but im too lazy to double check lol
Yeah I shouldn't have said it's the same since every punch is different, but you get my point lol

Usman was piecing him up before he got dropped with the jab, and he was obviously depleted when he fought Hooker

Burns isn't a world-beater, but he is a solid, good WW, and one of the worst matchups for Khamzat because of his BJJ

Seems like people are trying to discredit Burns as much as possible before Khamzat crushes him lol

Burns has fantastic hand speed at 170 due to being a natural LW which gave Usman trouble. His mat grappling is great too. His takedown defense is solid but he believes in his guard. His takedown offensive is good but will most likely be of no threat to Khamzat. Standing hes got decent pop and explosiveness but he tends to fade if he has to go at any real pace fairly early. Burns is a little chinny too.

Will Burns hand speed and stellar all around grappling expose things in Khamzats game? Khamzats cardio is largely untested as is his chin, we haven't seen him dominate any good grapplers on the met yet either. Honestly, in the UFC I haven't seen Khamzat even in a single striking exchange but his Euro fights he was wild standing and had lots of holes.

This fight will answer some real Chimaev questions.

As others have said, he's not a glass Canon but there's definitely something missing that would make him champ caliber. People often use the depletion excuse for his loss to Hooker, but he's not by ANY means a big WW and wasn't even a big 155er. Even when he had Usman hurt, he exerted himself when he couldn't capitalize on his success and played to pathetically begging Usman to go into his guard. Has explosive hands with OK power, good grappling but not the BJJ ace everyone thinks him to be. Khamzat is a stylistic nightmare for him on paper but he does have a chance even if it's not a very good one.
