I’m having a hell of a time with the combat. I haven’t played any games with combat close to this aside from a couple of the Arkham games years ago. I lost so many times the game asked me if I wanted to try easy mode. After a half dozen more attempts I gave up and lowered the difficulty. Man, I suck. I guess I’m out of my element if I’m not shooting things in the head. I’ll stick with easy for now until I get the hang of it.

This game is quite good. It is like an AC game but with a richer story and much more artistic open world.

What I like is that exploration actually rewards you, unlike most ? symbols in AC games.

Every ? you go to there's actually something useful.

Also love the combat. I think I'm close to the end of act 1 and barely ever used stealth tactics. Unlocked the wind stance and absolutely smoking mongols left and right. Playing on hard now so really being patient to avoid getting hit.

I’m reading a lot of reports and comments that the AI vs Stealth is extremely dumb and digital can crushing.

Is that true ?

al vs stealth is wierd id say. You kill one and if other one is like 5 meters away watching other direction you come close and wipe him also.
Just finished first part of tsushima, map is huge but im wondering do you upgrade items? I use ronin set, i removed hat only cuz its ugly af, but sword is V already.

Didnt used flowers waiting for great samurai set

I don't use stealth too much but it seems pretty powerful and the AI aren't that good at dealing with it (still in Chapter 1 but been playing for at least like 8-10 hours). It seems like you insta-kill any enemy with it (maybe not bosses) and a lot of times you can do it pretty close to the other enemies.

This is going to end up being one of my favorite games of the generation I think, and likely one of if not my favorite open-world AC style game. The exploration is fun, atmosphere is the best I've ever experienced in open-world, and the combat is really fun despite being basic. I personally like that you don't really need to use stealth often as it's much more satisfying fighting people in this game.

Yeah stealth is very inconsistent. Sometimes enemies seem completely blind then others times they spot me from across a camp. Just being able to crouch is just not enough for a stealth approach.

One of the prettiest games I’ve ever played.

Yeah I’d say it is, especially after playing TLOU 2. I actually have more fun just flat out fighting.

Armors and what they good for, tips for you bros:

Broken armor - useless, no perks. Cannot be repaired. Good for making the game challenging.

Traveler's Attire - great for clearing map fog and tracks artifacts; for exploration, no combat perks.

Samurai Clan warrior- free; reduces damage; best defensive armor in game. When upgraded, increases Jin's survivavility. Great for one on one boss fight.

Ronin attire - increase melee damage, reduces enemy detection, slows down enemy detection even after you leave the grass area; great for stealth fights; no combat perks - not recommended for open combat.

Tadayori's armor - great for ranged combat; increase knocking and reload speed; headshot restores concentration meter. Dont forget to stock up on arrows.

Gosaku's Armor - increase health and stagger damage, killing staggered enemies restores health. Great for open combat.

Kensei armor - increse resolve gains, more damage to ghost weapons, enemies deal less damage to you and takes more damage when ypu use ghost weapons. No defensive perks. Racks up more heals when upgraded and used correctly so it's great for long battles.

Sakai Clan armor - outclassed by other sets but has Stand off perk, great when paired with stand off techniques which allows you to cut up to 5 enemies (situational).

Ghost Armor - reduce enemy detection speed, reduce number of kills needes to enter ghost stance, kills have a chance to terrify nearby enemies. Great in the hands of more experienced players.

Mongol's Commander Armor - increase to health, reduce all damage, disguise while out of combat reducing detection. No stealth perks, cannot be upgraded.

Fundoshi - underwear armor (?), running makes no noise.

Hope this helps.

Dope game so far but I absolutely hate the battle camera and no lock-on. I’ve died quite a bit due to the jankyness of it. The combat it pretty fun and I’ve been doing more side quests over missions.

I got the hang of it today and bumped the difficulty back up to normal. I don’t use stealth much at all since the combat can be so satisfying. I acquired the heavenly strike and now enemies are sometimes running away at the sight of me slicing off an arm.

well i kinda like camera now, even in stand offs. Well, thats his field of view and it kinda make it realistic, not like GTA V 3rd person view
