Might retire like Ross and that'll be all we hear about it.

What if other boxers/managers simply refuse to fight anyone from the GBP stable?

It's one thing for fans to stop buying GBP ppvs, but another if boxers stop fighting them.

Good point. Might as well add Top Rank in there for good measure.

But they have too much pull.

TBH, fighting a Mexican in the States in general is a risky move. These judges work for the State, and they know who brings them their revenue. Gennedy has never fought in Nevada before, and so they would never give him the win if its a close decision. In this case, it wasn't even close but Canelo is their cash cow.

Gennedy needs to fight exclusively in New York, if he knows what's good for him.

Canelo is still being protected from that, there is no doubt. Seems like people didn't watched Lara fight.

So if this dumb bird had scored the fight 115-113 for Canelo would it have affected the outcome any differently?

You can't be this stupid. The score matters. With a score of 118-110, GGG could have dropped canelo multiple times and he still would have lost on her card.

She doesn't need to be investigated.

That bitch deserves to be stripped naked, dragged out to the center of the city and stoned to death.

Or they can do that shit like in the Brazilian favelas where they stick you in the middle of a ring of tires and set you on fire.

I'd pay the price of a PPV just to watch that shit.

The Rock vs Stone Cold was great too!

And even less scripted

I think punching matters in boxing. Controversial opinion, I know.
It does matter but not when your opponent lands cleaner and makes you miss wider
On second watch it was closer, couldve been a draw but i gave it to canelo 7 to 5.
Good fight.

How do you envision the fight was fixed? did they pay off just one judge? all three? was ggg paid off not to knock him out and ruin de la hoyas pay offs of the judges?

Judges work for the state. They know who brings in their revenue (tickets, licenses, tourism, taxes). Gennady has never even fought in Nevada before.

Canelo is their cash cow, not Golovkin. Beating a Mexican in the States in general is a risky move, and in Nevada or Cali? Near impossible.

You think it just so happend the judges disagreed with 90% of the public and thought the house/money fighter didn't lose

I don't see how it wasn't a pretty wide ggg win

I didn't feel it was wide... Canelo had a lot of strong moments. The fact that GGG's chin isn't even human and might be some sort of steel implant isn't really fair to base a fight on. I mean Canelo wacked him HARDDDD numerous times. He walked right through it but I mean it should count, and it made it a relatively even fight.

GGG had pressure on his side, which doesn't seem to be much of a factor in boxing. It's more of an MMA thing.

GGG took a while to get in gear due to nerves it seemed. If he'd started off relaxed like Canelo and racked up all the earlier rounds, he'd likely have got the nod. But of course it's easy to be relaxed when you know you've paid off the judges and you're too full of supplements and bulky to be taken out by the puches.

Is this why Bradley won a controversial decision against manny too?

everytime my beloved sport of boxing is on the big stage for the world to see it makes a fucking joke of itself

everytime these bullshit decisions happen i say im done with the sport, i know im not, but fuck

boxing is the definition of a love hate relationship for me

As you can see defense is an equal scoring criteria to punches landed so missing 8 to land 1 is not really good boxing.

He got outboxed handedly regardless.
Canelo deserved the nod.

No he didn't. His moments of dominance were too short lived. When people look back at the fight, they will remember GGG pounding on Canelo on the ropes for 90% of the fight, and GGG taking a few mega hard shots which somehow didn't put him down. Yes many of GGG's shots missed, Canelo was good at avoiding those power strikes, but they didn't all miss. Canelo got close to rocked a few times, GGG did not (it looked like he did at that one point but it was a deflection)... Which has a lot to do with GGG's abnormal chin so maybe it's not fair to use that metric...
