I mean..obviously Byrd was in Golden Boy and De La Hoya's pockets..But why make it so freakin blatant? I mean cmon? 118-110? You could have done 115-113 Canelo and while unpopular, maybe justified it. Now you're obviously just cheating to cheat and don't even care about people finding out. Do they just get not give any fucks?
You actually make the point that there was no "fix" just bad subjective judging which happens. If one was paid off to favor a certain fighter they wouldn't make it blatant.
Sorry but there was no hollywood style payoff here just incompetence.

It's hard to tell where Byrd's corruption ends and her racism begins, but it's always one or the other.

Boxing is becoming WWF

UFC will overtake it in the next 2 years. If they have not already
Byrd judges in the UFC as well so your statement doesn't hold up.

Anyway Canelo did well but got out hit and didn't win more rounds. Scores were pretty bad.

Obviously the three best MWs in the world. Which fight was better? Which fight was scored better? After seeing both vs GGG, who would you pick in a Canelo - Jacobs fight?

@Mods. What is with this merging? This is a completely distinct and legitimate topic and merging makes no sense. On the other hand, for Mayweather - McGregor we had a billion troll threads all allowed to stand on their own post fight.

This line gets trotted out to excuse every likely corrupt decision. But the question is, if there wasn't a systemic corruption issue, why does she still have job?

Those results. Ouch. Golden Boy's golden boy ain't looking so golden, boy.

The mods here are dipshits, always have been.

Canelo won 7-5. Remember, the poll asks who won the fight, not who you wanted to win.

GGG just doesn't live up to the hype (mind you, I didn't score based on this, as his fans do). Plain and simple, Danny Jacobs exposed him.

it gets trotted out because it makes sense to the unemotional.

If people all think their pointless threads complaining about the same thing shouldn't be merged, they're wrong. The entire front page shouldn't be a pile on adalaide Byrd, at least some of us who have been having to pm each other want to talk about the fight not talk about rules, corruption, judges, teddy atlas being teddy atlas, whether canelos beard helped him, why black fighters are better than white fighters, compubox or how fat dan found the buffet.

You get a great fight in a great division and nobody has come close to giving a decent analysis of what worked in here. Fuck that.

accidental. you can remake the thread.

She doesn't need to be investigated.

That bitch deserves to be stripped naked, dragged out to the center of the city and stoned to death.

Or they can do that shit like in the Brazilian favelas where they stick you in the middle of a ring of tires and set you on fire.

I'd pay the price of a PPV just to watch that shit.
lol

Well it was a great fight, I didn't really agree with the decision, hopefully one of them can take it out of the hands of the judges for the inevitable rematch. What a great thing to see two warriors at the top of the heap bring it, this is why we all watch boxing.

It's a possible explanation, but by far the least likely of the two and doesn't address my question. Interesting also that you think 'emotions' are the basis of my viewpoint, despite nothing that I typed giving any indication that they were. You seem to form strong opinions based solely on what you want to believe, not logical reasoning.

GGG beat that ass. Not only do I question the Canelo votes, but also anyone who thinks the fight was close. GGG fucking walked him down and cracked him all fight long. Once Sanchez told him not to let up, dude didn't take a step back for the next 9 rounds.

GGG is a special fighter and I feel like I witnessed something special tonight only to have it snatched away.
Lay off the crack pipe.

Unfortunately, one judge ruined it all. That is a story, no matter how you slice it.

It kills a heap of the enjoyment and buzz around the fight.

WOW! That was a great fight, many of us wouldn't have expected a draw but it was very competitive. Canelo had a case for winning but Golovkin should have won as he landed more and was pressing the action. I'm happy that Golovkin kept his belts at least. A rematch will now have to happen!

And Danny buries Canelo. The only way Canelo is holding a belt at middleweight is if he ever fights Saunders.
