it's beyond that, half of Russian combat sports are some ridiculous shit. these are the guys who created PowerSlap and AssSlap. when you want to see insane shit, Russia is the place to go. it's a crazy contrast, you have serious MMA fighters and boxers from that region AND also 500lb babuskas fighting over loaves of bread. it's great, a little something for everybody.
 
GFL just saved a ton of money. Homeless cats will be thrilled with this one B.
 
If a revenue sharing mma org turns out to be a start up money scam lol
 
I'm still kinda confused how anyone signed up for this.

I know it can be all fast and loose and you sorta have to take chances on new orgs, but this never seemed remotely realistic lol
 
Stop me if you've heard this before. New flashy MMA organization pops up on the scene claiming large financial backing and promising new and exciting formats, exciting fights, and huge paydays. Only to flame out and go belly up after a short time. EliteXC, Affliction, World Series of Fighting to name a few, Bellator to name a few. Some lasted longer than others. Bellator managed to last for many years before Coker ran it into the ground with circus and freak show fights. PFL has lasted a while but looks to be in a death spiral after giving Ngannou that huge contract and getting little in return so far. Also some puzzling decisions after buying Bellator, holding only 1 joint event and then not giving most of the roster any fights leading to several of the bigger names asking for and getting their release. GFL looks to be dead on arrival and will go onto the scrap heap with all the rest.

If you're a washed-up MMA fighter with little financial prospects and someone promises you a 500k check, you sign that as fast as possible and hope they come up with the money later.

I get that, but it stunk to high heaven.

What I'm pleased about is that none of these older guys actually fought and then got screwed on the pay - because that's what it smelled like to me.

Yeah, certainly better this all fell apart before any of the fights actually happened. So the fighters just have hurt egos now and not further damaged bodies to go along with the no pay.
 
I guess it’s hard to try to go big and all out, in the beginning unless you have unlimited bank
Maybe they can rent out the Apex for cheap off Dana

I still hope they can get something going, UFC needs some more competition
Even if it’s just washed legends

I don't think the Gay Fight League is going to make it. Something about their branding seems off

For what it's worth, I think we would have seen a lot of short fights and knockouts.

These guys are washed. Including their chins.

I think we were in for a night of sloppy fights with dramatic finishes.
