I don't think that was emotional pain.

It was happening when trying to sit up for octupus escape but getting crossfaced. Heard some rumor about a rib injury, I'm guessing it was the act of sitting up through a bad rib or his wrecked calf muscle was even worse on the inside than it looked on camera so trying to hook Islam's leg with it or stand up on it as the base leg was agonizing.

I would not be surprised if it comes out later he had a rib fracture or a fibula fracture / serious soft tissue damage from the calf kicks.
