dog actually named after commander shepard because time is cyclical but because of confusion over time shepherd is now the proper term. I dunno.

Shepherds are awesome dogs. I had one do something similar to the one in the OP when I was a kid. A chow came into our yard and was growling at me, and our GS was having none of that, lol. She jumped on it, ran him out of the yard and it never came back.



Fun fact. In the 70's the media reported on Shepherds the same way the media these days reports on Pit Bulls. Saying they were dangerous and nobody should own them. Another fun fact: Pit Bulls are almost as awesome as GS's.

My current GSD is the third one that I’ve owned, including the one that I grew up with. Truly an awesome breed. Incredibly loyal until the end.
