It actually looks very good and it got better when Turkish people brought doner. But if not, still good and I am surprised I don't see too many German food.

We live in a world filled with hate and division but good food brings us together and that's why I love the culinary world.

oh man, i've been knowing about good german food! i lived next to a great german restaurant when i was living in san francisco. german food always uses high-quality ingredients, and while not as complicated and flamboyant as french cuisine, it's excellent for what it is.

I’ve stopped eating red meat(for the most part, unless there is a good asado being thrown down) but yeah, German food isn’t too bad. The food is quite filling.

German food is my favorite cuisine.

My Mom's family is Austrian & my Oma was German-Italian. As a kid, during the holidays or on special occasions, 6-7 course meals weren't uncommon.

I mentioned in another thread that my wife sells Pampered Chef products & loves trying new recipes. Now that my Mom has retired, she's occupying her free time by teaching my wife how to cook all the dishes I grew up with.

Tonight we're having rouladen & spaetzle (look it up). The house smells amazing.

I am pleased to know that others appreciate German food and that I am not alone. Some folks think its soup and sausage with a piece of bread. I don't know why though but I kind of had that image in my mind until 6 years ago.

I’m not. MASSIVE fan but I adore curryworst, even the motorway service restaurants do great curryworst. Probably the best German meal I have had.
Used to go to a bier garden in Virginia, their sausages were great too, used to get the pickled red cabbage and German potato salad. It was mainly the ambience though, it was really quaint and dark so Christmas Eve was really cozy.

I ate not much else in Munich for a few days other than sausage and cabbage that when I went to an Italian restaurant and had a spicy Arabiatta I threw it up...my stomach obviously had trained itself to just like sauce and cabbage.

Mmmmmm...German potato salad.

That's our go-to dish for pot lucks. Inexpensive, easy to make & never any leftovers to bring home.
