Media George St. Pierre shares his gameplan on Khabib: Take the center right away, use my explosive TDs

Whats post usada GSP? You do know GSP won the MW belt during usada and beat one of the Top 5 Middleweights ever

Here comes the delusional Canadian fanboy. GSP quit the game soon as USADA came into testing. He quit the game when they were really big upcoming rising stars in LW and WW. He was in his prime and quit at 31.Think about that for a minute.

You are comparing a LW guy vs a guy WW guy who also fought at MW.

Also, Khabib's best grappler opponent:
- Tibau

GSP's best grappler opponents:
- Fitch
- Shields
- BJ
- Sherk
- Hughes
- Kos
- Trigg
- Johny

I had to stop watching once they got into freewill, conciousness, and im sure aliens was just around the corner.
Lex talks about that with everyone lol. It doesn't even matter if you are a physicist, fighter or a comedian. He talks about it.

I felt like there was more strategy there than 90% of the fights currently in the UFC

And after Khabib lost, GSP haters would go "big fucking deal, Khabib is a LW, and was never even that good, GSP weight-bully confirmed, his nuthuggers are just hyping Khabib up to boost his résumé" <Waaah>

Well, Khabib might have won, there's no way to know...
But after watching St-Pierre beat every "new guy to beat GSP for sure" over the years, it's hard to take it seriously when newbies come up with the exact same arguments as last time, acting like they're the first fanbase to have figured it out.

I'm still hoping that some day, GSP and Khabib will have a grappling match for charity like Anthony Pettis vs Masvidal.
That was we can have our cake and eat it too, we get to watch them in action and no legacy gets destroyed in the process.

Otherwise, I'm kinda scared that this match-up will never happen in any shape or form.

Khabib's bandwagon is already losing a LOT of steam ever since Poirer became McGregor's new rival.
Without Conortards to keep them relevant, the Khabibfags are fading harder than Usman's hairline.

Post of the year candidate right here. Brilliant.

He kind of did. He said khabib chain wrestles against the cage, but that he (unlike most of khabib's past opponents) has several tools to get off the cage.

i guess he's going for the reactive takedowns when Khabib pressures? then when they're back on the feet establish the jab and set him up with feints?

I see a lot of Bisping bashing

The man had a good record and he fought many top and decent quality fighters: Rashad, Hendo, Vitor, Sonnen, Leben, Silva, Wand, Cung Le, Kennedy, Stann, Rockhold, GSP, Gas, Akiyama, Jason Miller, Leites, CB...

Good boxing skills, top cardio

But this is sherdog so one eyed fighter with no skills and no record it is. Basically a can!

bisping one of the top 5 MWs ever????

<36>

who of these is he better than?

silva
hendo
weidman
rockhold
belfort
mousasi
adesanya
whittaker
Pretty much just Adesanya.

Huh ? He was rocked against Serra 1 but absolutely demolished him both on the feet and on the ground in the rematch and he said multiple times that he could have finished Hardy with that armbar but he didn't want to break his arm and possibly mess up the guy career.

And Jones , despite all his faults , PED and out of the cage dramas does have a good fighting IQ. Sorry to break your bubble
Fan of GSP here, but he never said that he did not want to break Hardy's arm. He was simply not able to apply enough pressure because his technic was not refined enough.

Khabib might be the better chain wrestler, but GSP is the better overall grappler.
His ground game is insanely good and has been massively underestimated throughout his career.
I am not sure I agree that GSP is necessarily the better grappler but I do agree that his ground game was underrated. Khabib actually has a killer guard, probably better than anyone GSP has faced. He's not like the average MMA grappler who maybe knows a few stand ups or will waste the round throwing up armbar attempts that go nowhere. Just as Khabib can chain takedowns he knows how to chain subs, sweeps, and stand ups.

That said GSP would easily be the best grappler Khabib would have faced just as Khabib would be the best grappler GSP would have faced. Could've been the best MMA grappling match of all time if it ever happened

Yup, I think he said once that right after the fight one of the first things he did was go to the locker room to try to figure out what he got wrong on the armbar.

I got to train with GSP in around 2013 and as good as I expected him to be he was absolutely off the charts good. Anyone he rolled with he just ran through, and these were seasoned black belts that all knew his system.

I haven’t had the pleasure of that experience with Khabib so for all I know I am underestimating Khabib the same way many underestimate GSP, but what I do know for sure is that Georges is even better on the ground than he looks, like way way way better.

It's pretty hard to give any negative criticism to either fighters skill set. We know what GSP is capable of but we've also seen shit from Khabib where it's usually pure domination with hardly any mistakes. An undefeated fighter with hardly any flaws. Khabib beats any Gsp at 155 imo. A prime Gsp at 170 vs Khabib at WW I'd probably favor George because of size. I'll admit I'm a bigger Khabib fan but I try not to let any bias sway my judgment.

I would poke and prod and get backed into the cage until my back his the fence then use headmivement

just because it hasn’t worked and seems the worst course of action. I still think you need to fight khabib with your back against the cage.

No man for the love of god no.

The match-up between them has a lot of details, nuances. But UFC's too cheap to make it. They also always had some underlying neutrality towards GSP, also back when he was champ. Loved Hughes, Penn, Chuck, Anderson, Khabib and Conor, but didn't like the decision machine, even with the following. Also vacating the MW belt and not fighting Whittaker. UFC remembers these things and values loyalty. GSP's been his own man on the business side. Hard to control.
