Apparently hendo-bisping is on.

hendo deserves a titleshot more than jacare? ooook

hendo is 1-1 in his last 2. 2-3 in last 5. 3-6 in last 9.

...wow.

jacare should be 7-0 in the ufc. and he just smoked the guy who smoked hendo 2 fights ago.

hate shit like this

While I doubt Jacare gets next shot, Ariel Helwani is saying those reports aren't true and Bispings opponent is still in the air so I'm not ready to believe it yet.

MW seems like a crapshoot now that Bisping is champion, so I don't see why the UFC doesn't do GSP vs Bisping and have some of the contenders knock each other off (Rockhold vs Yoel and Weidman vs Jacare would be awesome)

They both want it, it's kind of freak show but GSP has had a decorated enough career to also make it kind of legit, and it would sell.

Yeah I get what you are saying that Jacare does deserve the title shot though.

I wouldnt write hendo off here he has 5 rounds to find a home for the h bomb.

I kind of hope this fight happens just cause I have no doubts bookies will feel the same. Can't see bisping opening higher than -200 and I'd be all over him. Don't see Bisping letting 46 year old Hendo bomb him with the right hand

The only way I see this is Hendo bomb or Bisping tip toes his way to a decision.

Can I say what a farce it is for this fight to even happen. MMA is becoming a freak-show lately.
I see this debate almost every week on the MMA Beat lol but I don't get mad at fights like this. At the end of the day, the fight that will sell the most is always gonna be a fight the UFC seriously considers making. When they have the excuse of there being no clear contender at MW, just makes it easier and more reasonable for them to make the money fight.

It's easy to be mad about, but just to play devils advocate even more, is it really that bad with the current MW landscape to give one of the GOATs a chance to be UFC champion in his retirement fight?

lol if bisping is -200 i will be placing £1000 or more on him.

This will surely do numbers but then what does that say about the UFC, who has tried to not be like Bellator showing freakshow fights. When a fighter ranked 13th or something is fighting for the title over the more deservingly number 1 contender, its a farce.

Bisping at -200 is getting smashed. IDGAF. Im smashing him even at -250.
Would argue there is a big difference between an aged GOAT coming off a very legit win getting a swan song title fight when there is no definitive contender, and Kimbo vs Dada or Royce vs Shamrock. The real freakshow fight for UFC is CM Punk lol

Not saying as far as 'sport' goes there is any merit to this fight, but I'm on the side that wouldn't be too mad about it and can understand why it would happen

I could be wrong on Bispings opening price, it's actually pretty hard to gauge this one in that respect

If they open at -200, bookies are fucked. Wouldnt be surprised if i was at -500 in 30 minutes of it opening.

Anyone know anything about this, apparently this is Chael Sonnen's grappling event. Someone at Bookmaker must be a BJJ nerd because I recall them even having live odds on one of the older Metamoris events.

Im looking @ the draws but after reading the rules I dont get it

somebody always wins or do they mean the regular 8min, if so some of the draws are generous

As for the rules, Submission Underground isn't trying to reinvent the wheel. With the approval of Eddie Bravo, Sonnen's events will borrow Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) rules, with one twist. Submission Underground matches will go eight minutes of submission only before heading to overtime (Sonnen says he and Bravo both want to turn EBI's rules into grappling's version of the Unified Rules of MMA).

In overtime, the winner of a coin flip can choose to start the period either on his opponent's back or in an arm bar position. If one of the combatants secures a submission, the match is over. If, however, both escape, the match continues to the next overtime period. After three such periods, the competitor whose overall times of escape are the quickest becomes the winner.

"I've done some other submission grappling matches. If somebody didn't finish the other guy, it was a draw. You could always hang your hat on that. You could always walk home and tell your friends, 'Yeah, it was a draw.' In this event, somebody is going to lose. The matches will not be stopped," he argues.

I guess the draws mean in normal time.

they could count the overtime aswell, that could be dangerous since someone could restart the match in armbar positionb or back control

I'm don't think a match can end in a draw after overtime under EBI rules, they will just keep going until someone wins.

I think it ends after 2 ot and someone is declared a winner

I dunno man. Despite the sweet KO Hendo was looking really old, slow and tired going into the second round with lombard. In a 5 rounder i could actually see Bisper finishing him this time.

I realize discussing streams is kind of a taboo topic on this board for obvious reasons. I was curious if any of you guys have used one of the android tv boxes which apparently allow you to stream UFC events or anything else your heart fancies.

If you have used these devices then what is your experience and how good/bad was the quality.

Currently these boxes are legal in Canada but I think the cable companies are disputing this in the courts soon.

I don't mind paying for a service but UFC seems to be making this so crazy hard to be a paying customer. As a Canadian I have to pay for 3 separate services if I want to watch an entire UFC card. I need to pay for cable, pay for FightPass, and then also pay for the PPV for the main card. This is a fucking ridiculous business model. As a hardcore fan I am so frustrated and fully prepared to not pay UFC another dollar.

Anyway there is my rant...feel free to delete mods if deemed inappropriate.

I have an Android box with kodi but you could just set up kodi on your laptop and stream it to your computer
