General Gaming Discussion, v3

Traded in some X1 games, picked up an ol 360 again so now rocking both. Not pleased with how slow Back compat was progressing on X1 (Its a great service thats free I'm not complaining, just sayin).

Picked up some old favorites (Dead Space 1-3, F.e.a.r 1-3, Bioshock 1-3) all on the cheap.

Love this system (7th gen in general both this and PS3)
 
After beating Dark Souls 3, I decided the clear Firewatch out of my backlog..I beat it in 2 sittings. I loved absolutely everything about it.
 
Anyone played all the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC? Worth getting?
 
10 hours in Fire Emblem: Awakening(add a few more hours unofficially from all the resets) and have to restart again. I've lost too many units, i'm getting destroyed.

Doesn't bother me though. i love these games. i wish they'd make another Advanced War.
 
Revisiting Spec-Ops: The Line, after reading so much praise for it over the years. The first time through, I thought it was a typical military shooter with a good story, but nothing mind-blowing if you know the story it derives it's narrative from.

Looking at it now, I feel the same. The gameplay is good, but lacks a certain polish that makes the best of the genre stand out. The cover mechanic just doesn't work as well as a game like Gears Of War. Gun play is solid, and the difficulty is fair, but every area has about ten too many enemies, that just artificially stretch sections of the game out. Where it does stand out a bit, is in certain narrative choices you get to make throughout. It's unique for a shooter, and doesn't feel like a tacked on "morality" system. The decisions you make feel natural and not a "good or bad" scenario you have to play with. You just have some choices to make, and that's that. Also, the squad commands are nice, and they work well. A little too well sometimes, though. You can have your two squad mates kill entire sections, without firing a shot.

Overall, a good game, but that's it. Nothing all that special.

Got RAGE for $2 today, which is awesome because i really love the game.

It kinda depressed me at the same time because it came with this still in the sleeve.

On my way to 100% on "Rayman Legends". "Rayman Origins" is the only game I've ever completed 100%, so I figured I've got to at least try with the sequel. The compromised touch screen controls on the PS are a bit of a bitch, but nothing unmanageable.

I'm an old-school platforming whore, and this game scratches that itch perfectly.

Last gen was so good.
 
Bought the whole Metro Redux with 7 euros the other day. Been playing Metro 2033 Redux now with Survival / Ranger Hardcore difficulty. My goodness I'm having more fun than with the original. Playing this game without HUD and UI is pretty intense (and "immersive" or whatever).

Looking forward to Metro: Last Light with the same settings. Original was way too easy.
 
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is on sale for $4 on Live. Think I'm gonna grab it. Got about three quarters of the way through on a rental way back when it first came out. Remember really liking it, but never played it again. Time to remedy that, I think.

That's a fair assessment of it I think. I played it about a month or so ago after it was recommended to me on here. I'm glad I played it because I did enjoy it and I'm sure I'll play through it again at some point in the near future just because it's such a quick game and you have different choices to make. I liked it, but didn't love it unlike Sleeping Dogs which I believe was recommended by the same guy. Now that one was tremendous I thought. One of the most enjoyable games on last gen for me.
