General Gaming Discussion, v3

Maybe spoiler shit when you see someone talking about playing through the game for the first time.

So, was it that stupid wagon race that did you in? I hate that mission.

Red Dead is amazing, but I think most would agree that the first few hours are a little tedious. The Bonnie missions especially. Herding cattle in a videogame is about as exciting as it sounds.

Come to think of it, the game is bookended with some very boring stuff. The missions with your son near the end are awful as well.

Yeah I hated that wagon race. Finished it but then there was some other timed wagon rescue I kept failing. My progress seemed to stall at that point. How far into the game was I?

Less than half way through.

ADOM: 1.2.0 Release 60 is out and free to the public!

[YT]XzLnW5gTyRY[/YT]

First released in 1994 Ancient Domains of Mystery (ADOM) is one of the oldest roguelike games still being updated and maintained. After a 9 year hiatus from 2002 to 2011 and a successful Indiegogo campaign in 2012, development resumed and now ADOM is coming to Steam.

If you haven't played ADOM in a long time or have never played a roguelike, download the latest release asap. It's free and every computer since the Amiga can run it in ASCII mode.

Highly recommend this classic.

Anyone remember Shadowgate for NES?

I just found out someone remade it last year for PC. Almost 1:1, even the soundtrack is the same but updated. The game itself is pretty good. Kind of buggy but playable, fun and most importantly - nostalgic.

Maybe don't expect such courtesy for a five year old game. Besides, it's not like anyone spoiled anything big, like the ending of the game where Jon gets abducted by aliens. Whoops...

I knew it!

Or the Mexico mission where Marston invents the nuclear rocket launcher.

Weird, no one else dropped a single spoiler. But you're right, I shouldn't expect people to not be dicks about things on the internet.

Get over yourself.

Don't buck the trend.

You know, this all could've been avoided if all those years ago, you had the attention span and common sense not to judge an open world Rockstar game based off of the first 30 minutes of gameplay.

Now you get to live with that poor decision. Serves you right.

I guess you have a point. Lesson learned.

Have no worries. You'll realize I didn't really spoil anything too big once you get there. Far bigger surprises in store for you.

One fun surprise last night was getting killed by a fucking cougar that was stalking me at night in some grassy area.

Heh, that will become less and less surprising as the game goes on. You will learn to hate those fucking things. I can't tell you how fun it is to get cut down by a random cougar near the end of a lengthy mission.

Too impatient for backwards compatibility on my Xbox One so i said fuck it and bought a pre owned 360. (been craving 7th gen games)

I gotta say, having already beaten Skyrim and all the DLC 3 times before on 360 and Once on PS3...Its impressive that even the watered down vanilla console version of Skytim can STILL get me invested in 2015 for the 5th time.

F.E.A.R 2, also IMO is one of the best single player shooters I've ever played. I always loved it, but that was the first game i replayed on my 360 and it still holds up.

In fact i love the entire F.E.A.R franchise, i even like the 3rd one.
