I mean whatever, cool i guess. I actually really liked this game, one of my favorite PS3 games for sure. 1080p/60 fps with photo mode.

But 8th gen is starting to look pretty bad IMO. This is the generation of the remasters.

Here are games on 8th gen that are 7th gen remasters, off the top of my head.

-GTA v
-God of War 3
-Halo Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 4
-Saints Row Iv
-Payday 2
-Sleeping Dogs
-Metro 2033, Metro Redux
-Diablo III
-Tomb Raider
-The Last of Us

Idk probably more, but what do you guys think? Isn't this shit getting out of hand at this point?

It's definitely getting ridiculous. I feel like there should be some Xhibit/Pimp My Ride joke here, but I'm not sure how to construct it.

I totally put your GOW3 inside your GOW3....PS4....Machine....

Nah. It's a work in progress though.

Even though I finally got around to playing GoW3 last year I will probably buy the remaster. The game already looked pretty good and I'm curious if they will add anything new(I think its past time GoW tried something new instead of the challenges in every installment).

I'm allover that remake. Unless of course they want to charge full price for admission.

I wish these things were set up in such a way where if you can demonstrate ownership of the original, you get a heavy discount.

Yeah, the only way it seems to happen is with trade-ins. I did that with GTA V.

The hardware is far too different.

I'm not too tech saavy, or really know what the fuck I'm talking about at all here, BUT, that seems like a copout that the industry fed to us, and we've just accepted. Personally, I think it's a load of bullshit. I think they could do it very easily, if they really wanted to.

What's the point of withholding it? From everything I've read the Cell architecture of the PS3 is very different from what they're using in the PS4.

It's a significant reason why I haven't even bothered to get a next gen system yet. Too many games are either remastered, or are still available on last generation (CoD, Destiny etc.) The only must have game on the new gen that comes to mind is Bloodbourne

Erm....

$$$$$$$

Why let people play their old games on the new system, when they can add a few bells and whistles to them, and sell them all over again. Or better yet, sell the entire library unchanged on the PSN for $10 a pop.

I'm sure there are tech reasons, but I don't buy for a second that they absolutely couldn't do it. It's obviously not worth it for Sony or MS either, because they don't make any money for implementing it. It's like doing the gaming community a favor. Why would they want to do that? The early PS3's had BC with PS2, but they eliminated it on newer models for some strange reason......

Meh, I could see the argument if they weren't making any changes to the games. The 60fps alone makes TLOU look drastically different. Plus it's usually bundled with extra features. They're making my favorite games better, I'd be happy to shell out a little extra cash for that.

I don't think it's impossible either. And you're right, I'm sure money is a factor. The first PS3's were also $600.

And what's wrong with a virtual console? It's not always easy to keep a console and all the games functioning for 20+ years, and it can be costly to go the authentic route.

The PS3's cell processor has not been successfully emulated yet.
So they'd essentially need to include a PS3 processor in there.
Would you rather the PS4 be ~$150 more expensive than it is so you could play old games?

And do you always form strong opinions about things you know you don't understand? Because that's a little strange.

Drastically different? I beg to differ. It runs smoother obviously, but other than some very minor visual enhancements, it's the same game. We're not talking a GTAV overhaul, or anything. Now that was drastic. TLOU was improved ever so slightly, and personally I prefer playing it at 30fps.

There isn't anything wrong with it. I've thrown some cash down for classics that are damn near impossible to find. Still though, I would love to be able play my stack of PS2 and PS3 games on my PS4. It would also make it a lot easier to convert people. Right now, my PS4 is practically a brick, and I can't blame anyone for not diving into this gen, because it's shit right now. If you could play your PS3 games on it, at least you would be using it. Everytime I start up my PS3, I just look over at my lonely PS4 and shake my head at the money I wasted on it.

I play my PS4 quite a bit. Sorry to hear that.

I played through DAI, which was awesome, and borrowed GTAV and TLOU off of a friend, and played them for a bit. Oh', and I played the PT demo, and snagged a few games off of PS+ like The Binding Of Isaac. That's literally all I've done with. I haven't turned it on in quite a while.

I'm really pumped for Arkham Knight though. Hopefully it won't get delayed again.

Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel are coming as well. No Borderlands though, oddly enough.
