General Gaming Discussion, v3

lol I was more surprised by Konami.

I would pretty much only buy a Day 1 game from Bioware, Bethesda, Rockstar and that's it. The only producers I trust implicitly.

Is it to late to for takebacks? Their games are buggy as hell no denying that. Worth it though. Same with Bioware and R*. They all make buggy games comes to be expected. With games as grand and epic with huge scope and design and depth I can deal with it if I know I'm going to get 100's of hours of enjoyment out of them. Oh and as long as you save scum constantly. :icon_chee

I do not know if this has been asked before, but any news on the combat system in the new Witcher game? The old ones played like hot garbage, and while I loved the games, I really do not look forward to 60+ hours of clunky controls.

Bethesda I've no problem with buying early, but playing them at that point leaves you beta testing for a few months. Great games, but their QA is fucking awful. I know to expect bugs, but some of the stuff that was passed as fit to release never ceases to amaze me.

Anyone playing Duke Nukem Megaton Edition on psn? Really wanting to pick that up. Some of the best multiplayer times ever were playing Duke Nukem 64 back in the day.

Bullshit, only 360's break.

It got knocked over. Seemed to work fine for another day, then it gave up the ghost. Power supply's probably fucked. Tried to replace it but one of the screws is stuck fast. All I succeeded in doing was grinding the screw to fuck.

I'm probably going to download it tonight...when it was listed as one of the ps+ free games for this month it was under vita...didn't know it was cross-buy with ps3 also...so I'm def going to pick it up...

So after putting about 40 hours or so into oblivion, I've gotta say...

I really believe the quests are a bit better than skyrim. The fighters guild shits on the companions storyline. The sheer amount/type of enchantments, the amount of different weapons. Loving it so far.

It's been years since I played Oblivion but just going off memory I feel like Oblivion was vastly superior to Skyrim in virtually every way.

Since I had the luxury of playing both for the first time in the same year, I'd say they're almost apples and oranges. Same line of games, but they're vastly different in mechanics. The leveling alone is completely different.

I would say I like both pretty equally. The Archery in Skyrim makes the Oblivion Marksman look like doody, whereas the customized magic/enchantments in Oblivion really dwarf the shortcomings of magic in Skyrim. I find the main quest of Skyrim with the nords to be much more intriguing than the main questline of Oblivion.

Almost two completely different games imo.

Despite hiring Patrick Stewart, who had some of the worst dialogue in history and sounded flatter than the Netherlands as a result, the Oblivion main quest seemed almost an afterthought. It's like they got near deadline and realised that they'd forgotten about it, having spent all their time on the Guilds. Shit, lads, cobble some quests together!

Yeah, I really felt that way, too. After starting and finishing the main quest, I was left thinking... Wow, that's it?

Oblivion was pretty black and white, there wasn't the ambiguity that other games in the series have. There was no internal strife in the land, just this external threat that had to be defeated.

Having said that, the assassin quest line was great. They nailed that imo.

I've only played 2 Elder Scrolls games(Oblivion and Skyrim) and the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion was my favourite part from both games, probably one of my best experiences in any game, i thought it was amazing.
