Tonight we learned that Shavkat's grappling is only effective against ground scrubs like Wonderboy.

Not sure who was thinking Ian could hang with Shavkat in grappling through 5 rounds but it was kind of disappointing to see.

ian garry is a fantastic fighter. never gave up and never stopped trying to win. he was so close to getting that rear naked. these two will fight again. at first i was cheering for shakhat but as the fight went on i became a big fan of ian. great performances from both guys, welterweight division is in good hands.

Shavkat looked bad stalling every round and struggling for a takedown and looking to ride position. Shavkat was world beater and walking through everyone, he was looking like Merab tonight.

i had it 3-2 garry. i don't think shavkat clearly won any round outside of the 1st, which he won with one strike. he seemed to think standing there doing nothing and being up against the cage doing nothing were a winning gameplan. lucky for him, the judges agreed.

It's a pretty clear 48-47 Shavkat decision, but Garry certainly won a moral victory by winning two nif the last three rounds and making Shavkat look human.
