Oh my God! That was absolutely ridiculous. That ref is the worst ref besides Herb Dean. Yesterday, it was Roy Nelson getting screwed and today, it's a bright kid like Matthews. I have to admit that this week has turned pretty bad so far. I don't know how long I can keep this up.

Ref was instantly yelling MOVE FIGHTER way too early. I think the TKO was coming but that was too early.
The ref was over the top and the call was definitely early... I've seen so many other fights were that can go on for a whole round. Jake is going to be shattered by that... this kid works so hard and he was honestly shocked it was stopped.
If that was worthy of a stoppage, then almost every fight where a fighter has landed ground strikes should've been stopped, too. There was nothing major thrown or landed.
I saw the ref leap in saying "defend yourself fighter!" which made me think I must've missed a punch that made him momentarily limp or something, but no.
To those who, for some reason, thought the Dos Anjos vs. Alvarez was early, then they need to witness this crap.

Did not bother watching the Chinese fight. Was it the same ref?
It really makes me wonder if this is connected with the recent events to appease the PC crowd. I mean it has to be, right? It's unbelievable. I hope Matthews and his team appeals this appalling decision. If there's a petition for fans to sign, I'll love to sign it as well. I cannot stand Kevin Lee and his cocky attitude. Guys like him should only get 1 strike before getting release.

No, different ref. Chinese got a takedown, started to ground and pound, landed one decent punch that maybe phased the other dude although I couldn't tell and the ref. called it. Possibly even worse than this fight.

Lee/Matthews could've gone longer. Herzog is usually one of the better refs about this kind of thing. Not sure what changed here.
I thought the Li/Zafir stoppage was fine, looked like he got flash KO'd then woke up during Li's follow up.
