The only reason Jones is fighting Stipe, is because Stipe is 40 years old and Jon is pretty sure that Stipe is too old to be a threat.

It's either that or he thinks Stipe will never fight again and he's playing a game of calling out someone who he will never have to fight in order to stay relevant. In any case, Stipe is the only hw he has ever specifically called out.

Yeah people keep thinking their fav fighters are always at their best form. People still think GSP could come back and beat Leon or Usman. Maybe a younger version could but the guy had one fight in 10 yrs? Cmon

Jones lost 3 rounds to fuckin reyes and gave away his belt after that. He didnt do that for no reason. He didnt avoid fighting DC for the HW belt for no reason,he said it himself. He's lookin to cash out.

Jones has insurmountable grappling experience over Gane.

What I like to point out is Gane took 4 years of training to get to a titleshot, along with Francis (who later acquired the title only a few years later). These are both guys who never did any combat sport before, in their late 20s.

These are both guys who had the same coach too, so that man is doing something right.

Also people with great footwork always bothered Jon, like Gus in the first fight, Santos and Reyes, with Reyes and Gus they slowed down in the middle rounds (Gus in the second fight stayed on the centreline probably to save his cardio) which allowed Jon to win those rounds, so it’s possible Gane will slow down and it will allow Jones to score TDs and strikes. Santos…tore all his knees which wasn’t a good look.

So I call 3 rounds to Gane, with Jon winning the fight halfway through the third round, leading to a controversial decision, then in a rematch Gane doesn’t use his footwork so he doesn’t gas as hard leading to a clear Jones win.

Agreed. Jones would get schooled vs gane. ie no hope of taking him down and pieced up on the feet. Jones needs the stipe fight imo. This is what must happen. Anyone who wins this is a sherdog goat so worth the risk.
