Games you found scary and or disturbing.

I find all horror games scary. I can't even play them. Nothing disturbing though. I do remember once my dad came in and I tried to show him how cool RE2 was and it was the first time I could tell he was disturbed by what he saw. He didn't say I can't play it but it was something very close to him having that train of thought. Don't remember the exact words.

Parts in OG Doom. Like whenever they turned the lights out on you was fucked up. I'd never played a game that did that before. When you first played DOOM you never played nothing close to that, and you'd think about hallways and hear grunting zombie soldiers nearby long after you stopped playing. That level of immersion was groundbreaking at the time.

I thought the original Silent Hill did alot of very cool psychological scares, as opposed to the jump scares of Resident Evil.

This one in part 4 is just...

I thought both Control and Alan Wake 2 were pretty creepy in parts. AW2 felt like the OG Resident Evil and I loved the dark forest parts. Lots of screaming ghosty jump scare stuff.

Soma was probably more disturbing than outright scary. Really great game and it's on sale for just 1.49.

I can't wait for Ontos, the reveal at The Game Awards was a great surprise. Looks like it's going to be one hell of an experience. Same team that did Soma.

More recently I'd say Silent Hill 2 Remake is among the scariest I've played.

That's freaking awesome! I totally missed this reveal!

I was hoping it was taking place in the same world as SOMA, with the last humans aboard a space station. It's prob best left as the masterpiece that it is, and a new IP is very welcome too.

Soma had some scary moments, but I agree, it was far more disturbing. I don't think any game left me with the existential dread that SOMA did.

Did you ever see the prequel mini/webisode series that came out around its release? For the small budget, they did a great capturing the feel of the game. I'd love to see a bigger budget adaptation.

No I haven’t but I’ll check it out when I have time. I didn’t actually watch TGA this year but yesterday I sat down before bed and just watched every trailer that was revealed and that stuck out to me as the biggest surprise. Also love that they got Stellan Skarsgard to be a part of their game. Love that actor.

Clocktower and Mortis X made me jump when I was a kid playing them with my cousin, eating pizza rolls and drinking orange cream soda.

Only one-time have I been frightened in a game, and that was when the licker jumped through the interrogation room in RE2. That honestly made me jump. Nothing else comes to mind.
