Gamer Art/Setups/Memes

Inject this into my veins.

Really cool. Thanks. Sam Elliott is killer casting here but Ocelot changes so much he only works for maybe MGS4 and GZ/PP, IMO. The ageing in MGS has always been confusing for me: Ocelot is actually Big Boss' junior, iirc, but sometimes looks like his grandpappy, lol.

Yeah, alot of those castings were 'Who was popular in the 90s that looks the most like the characters" but wouldn't have actually been good choices.

Linda Hamilton as Meryl?
Linda Hamilton was 34 years old in 1990, and Meryl's entire character revolves around being young, naive, completely ignorant to the horrors of war.

Master Miller getting a seperate casting from Liquid?

I question if whomever did the castings actually played the MGS1.

Don't get me wrong. I loved the trailer as 'motion concept art.'

1) Didn't even realize you posted that
2) I know. Weird, right?
3) What would you suggest as a starting point?

Fascinating question.
I was just asking that to myself 'What MGS game would I recommend in 2026?'

My first instinct was to recommend the first one I played MGS1 for the PS1 that came out in 1998. It has the overall best story, it was the first cinematic game with full motion cut scenes with 10/10 voice acting.

But, as you can tell, the graphics and gameplay have... aged well for being nearly three decades old... but it has aged.

So, the absolute best answer to your question is the 'best game in the series,' and it chronologically happens first...

...and it had a recent remake released that is far easier to play on modern consoles & PC than the others because it takes advantage of modern hardware to be far more enjoyably played with today's standard of resolution & framerate.

{Yes MGS3 happens in the 1960s & MGS1 happens in the late 2000s, and in both games you play as a character named 'Snake' that look the exact same. Is he a vampire? Does he not age? Trust me it's explained in MGS1.}

Here's a trailer that is very vague about the story (non-spoiler).

Here's a short review.

[Edit- Would like to clarify although it's a 10/10 game, one of the best of all time, it's not a 10/10 remake. As this review explains it has a few flaws but I've played it and the flaws are barely noticable in a few short sections of the game. Keep in mind YouTube reviewers are typically overanalitical.]

So go play MGS3/SnakeEater/'Delta' and afterwards ask me how best to play MGS1 because that's a more complicated answer.

BTW I'd suggest going into it completely blind for best experience, rather than watching endless reviews, tutorials, and guides that may contain spoilers.
