Television Game of Thrones S08E06 Discussion Thread: Burn them all! (the writing staff) | Our Watch has ended

You’re not entitled to anything. Grow up.

Well, we still have our say.

This season was shitty when it didn’t need to be. ITs an insult.

Hopefully the outcry serves a purpose. And other shows drawing crazy money bc of the fans, won’t duck the fans over.

Well, I'd say thats subjectively debatable. Overall I think Allens performance coupled with his overall story was phenomenal and, like I stated previously, one of the best character arcs Ive ever seen on TV.
Tyrion's was more fleshed out and Dinklage is a better actor, but yes, most things are subjective.

Yup, I don’t think I know a single person who hasn’t watched seasons more than once. You’re trying really hard here.

lol

100s of hours of TV (assuming everyone has watched start to finish 3 times).

Yeah, I'm trying really hard here.

Umm, yeah, again, most people I know who are into the show binge the previous seasons before a new one. Or at least as much as they can.

Yeah, you are trying hard lol.

Tyrion has been a joke of a character since S4 (he's not alone here) and way overused due to Dinklage's popularity.

"Don't know a single person" to "Most people I know" in 3 minutes.

Like saying I've been to over 100 countries (I've been to France 68 times and Spain 32 times).

Admit you are wrong......learn from your mistake.....move on.

You are welcome.

Look at the pedant, trying so hard to earn his self worth.

Did you know Terminator 2 is 20 hours long!

(Because most people I know have watched it 10 times!!!!!!!!)
Trying so hard lmao.

Quick question, pedant. If I watched T2 10 times and enjoyed it. Would you say I got 20 hours of enjoyment out of T2?

"Don't know a single person" to "Most people I know" in 3 minutes
Caught your edit. Yes, I said I don’t know a single person who hasn’t rewatched some of the seasons (I don’t). And then I said most people I know try to binge watch the previous seasons if they can.

Oof lol

they changed his arc from the books and it showed towards the end - w/ Shae's death being self-defense instead of murder and the non-reveal about Jaime/Tywin/Tasha. Had he gone down that road, his character would have had a lot more edge and different motivations. He would have been the ultimate wildcard instead of a delusional, stupid idealist following around Daenarys like a pup.

I think Bran's arc probably suffered the most. They gutted the Three Eyed Crow/Others storyline, probably to save time and to leave enough for the prequel. Him being king might be a great subplot/twist in the books. Right now, the tv show writing is really inconsistent because of it.

The finale was okay for me until the great council scene, it was all downhill at that point.

My favourites from the early seasons were The Hound, Tyrion, Jon and Jaime..........all 4 were butchered in the latter seasons, tbh. Had no emotional reaction to any of their fates by the end.

Bran went from dull to intriguing to irrelevant. Still no idea what the point of him was.

I don't really have a big theory, but the general gist of where I think it is going off the cuff:

The TER and the Others are the most ancient things in Westeros and come from the same magic/type of creator. That Bran did not develop his sight from the fall, but rather it was unlocked by the TER, which selected him since before he was born - TER mentions watching him when he was born. The TER saw the timeline in which Bran becomes one of the few candidates capable of being king after the fall of the Others and Dany. Bran wasn't chosen because he was the only one capable of becoming the TER, rather the TER saw an opportunity to rule Westeros. 1 in a 1000 are wargs, and 1 in 1000 wargs can be greenseers - there are probably dozens of candidates at any given time - Bran had the bloodline.

The TER waited until Bran was crippled, so he'd be desperate, hoping he could walk again and would be willing to travel to the TER. The TER manipulated him into travelling to the cave. The TER could see into his mind, knew that Bran would want to know this and withheld the info prior to the journey. He also didn't tell Bran that his consciousness would be subsumed by the TER.

TER straight up possessed Bran like a demon.

I feel confident about the above, the question I have is whether TER is benevolent, evil or indifferent to human suffering. Hoping the books and/or prequel sort all of that out.

Vaping hard af to remove the bitter taste of me rewatching the last 3 episodes.
