Television Game of Thrones S08E06 Discussion Thread: Burn them all! (the writing staff) | Our Watch has ended

Eh it was fine. I can see how they might not been perfectly happy how it ended tho. Felt a bit rushed I suppose. Not uncommon for actors to want the characters they are so attached to end up differently. They are just actors tho.

All in all I feel satisfied with the last season and the finale, but most importantly the series as a whole.

People were going to complain no matter what happened.

It was rushed, HBO wanted to give them 10 Seasons with a Blanque Check, but the two writers, Benieof and Weis turned it down and said they could wrap it up in a few episodes, so they can move on to something else.

They were checked out of Writing for Game of Thrones and it showed, especially when they started out pacing the book.

If they wanted to move on,,they should have left the show in the hands of people that cared. But they wanted to wrap it up quickly so they could move on to Star Wars.

  • What's the point of Jon going North if the Unsullied and the Dothraki are leaving Westros anyways and not coming back?
  • Bran being the King felt so off. Unless he's some evil genius that pushed everything in that direction to be King.

I really feel like those 2 are connected.

Starks being the only independant house but also the kings of the 6 kingdoms, meanwhile voted king of the north and heir to the throne is exiled.

and how is Bran can't have children be a good things, that mean that they going to have to choose a leader again next time and next time when their army are restore, their castle fixed and the economy is running well again, what would stop a war from happening if some of the lords and the ladies are not happy with the decision.

why not choose a leader, that is most qualified that already has an heir and has a rich land to back him and also follow the religion that most of people in seven kingdoms follow.

i know i've said this many times now, but the show rejecting Edmure is basically the show rejecting logic. ( which they have been doing since season 7-8)

Apologies if this has been asked and answered but why was it snowing after the battle? It definitely wasn't ash. Just seemed odd.
Cause they wanted that shot like in Dany's prophecy vision.

Remember everyone last week arguing it was ash? I member.

Some people are mad because Jon Snow didn't end up on the iron throne, but if he did it would have been so cliche and people would have been mad about that too. This was a more fitting ending for his character.

I totaly agree this season was super rushed with poor writing etc, but the ending was at least decent IMO. Was afraid we would get Dexter, Sopranos or Lost.

It’s begging to become a cliche when Hollywood starts building a narrative in one direction only for out of nowhere forget what they where building and completely change things to say they subverted expectations

I mean, if you had the largest army left, wouldn't you pipe up? I would.

thats where the prequel comes in.

And at that point I don’t care. I already know how it ends. Are they going to have multiple seasons cockteasing me about their origins?

Under the authority of the King of the Andals and the First men, I name you Lord Paramount of the Vale, Robin Arryn.

latest

and we should've had one last fight scene between jon and Grey worm, which end in Jon beating him and not killing him, which would explain why grey worm are not that upset with Jon not being dead.

Shit was lame as hell. Literally took an absolute, no risk finale. Nothing surprising happened, it was just like, ok were done now.

Some people would complain and say it’s racist, he just killed a wahman and now a poc

Then why didn't he? They killed his "father", hell his brother too.

Opportunity and obligation. He went to abandon the Night's Watch to fight for Robb but the White Walkers came. By the time he was in striking distance of Cersei, he was trying to deal with The Night King's army.

Especially since they have shown they cant reacreate the feeling of the first 4 seasons without the source material.

The show ends with cersei blowing up the citadel. She destroys her enemies and earned the throne and as far as I'm concerned nothing happens after that
