Television Game of Thrones S08E06 Discussion Thread: Burn them all! (the writing staff) | Our Watch has ended

I guess in the north they will actually allow for the throne to be passed from parent to sons, so the Srark family will always be royalty.

Starks just trolled everyone x100 but mostly their bastard brother who was the actual king of the north and the 7 kingdoms.

The whole season felt rushed and could have used more episodes to set up everything.

Regarding the finale:
  • What's the point of Jon going North if the Unsullied and the Dothraki are leaving Westros anyways and not coming back?
  • Bran being the King felt so off. Unless he's some evil genius that pushed everything in that direction to be King.
  • Dany dying without saying anything like Jorah and Beric just felt like the writers just couldn't come with anything good. Her turn to the darkside felt rushed.
  • They should have flipped the Cercei and Night King battles IMO. Dany turning evil with the setup they used just didn't work for me.

before Jon even dipped w/ the Wildlings, i half expected Bran to say 'we'll only "pursue' you if you dip south of the wall' b/c other than just outright ignoring that BS, that was the obvious move

I mean that one Castor's Keep homie still has some leftover daughters, right? It wasn't just Gilly that lived, or was it? shit was too long ago
edit: Craster's Keep, my bad.

I almost forgot about Karl Tanner, the Legend of Gin Alley.

Just thought about this

The fact that they houses that vote are still going to be in royal bloodlines means that the "wheel" isn't broken. It's still ruled by houses - they now just vote on THEIR leader.

Wouldn't the other kingdoms be afraid that their people would want to start electing leaders?
It's stupid. The Ironborn have the same system and they just had a civil war.

Can’t wait to see how D&D ruin The Old Republic now.

So can Bran, as the three eyed Raven, even get old and die anyways? Could he rule immortal forever?

Or will he just one day decide its time he was done being king and plug himself into a tree?

The actor playing Edmure was tremendous in that scene.

yep. spoilers were 100 percent correct. I'm gonna need a bit to try and process this.

The “leaks” that came out waaay before this season even aired felt 100% more satisfying and coherent than this bullshit we received.

I'm curious, how did those have things playing out, now that we know it went a different path?

Grey Worm: Jon and Tyrion have to pay
Tyrion in chains: Only the king can decide our punishment, Bran should be king
Bran: Okay, Tyrion is my hand, my sister can rule the north, and Jon goes off with his best bro and good dog
Grey Worm:................................................

Me watching how things ended for Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen...

Bran conned Westeros...

So the walkers and the Night King are just mindless killing machines, thats all their point? Now that I regain some composure I see more plot lines are not properly explained. Bran the king but also the Three Eyed Raven, how would that even work? The Dorththraki where they go? The Red God and what purpose he served or the point of all the prophecies?

thats where the prequel comes in.

Just finished it. Sucked.

Even my wife hated it, and she’s liked every episode this season.

But man am I going to miss these threads.

The Iron Throne was really the friends we made along the way.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered but why was it snowing after the battle? It definitely wasn't ash. Just seemed odd.
