Not since you first started betting on the UFC fights recently. I mean like since you bought that first scratcher ticket, played at a table at the casinos, or put money into the slot machine with the aim to win. I understand people will buy scratchers or put a couple bucks into the slots just to play for fun, but i'm talking more the ones that are there to win money.

Sometimes you walk away up, but are you really up when you calculate everything you've ever spent gambling or just making back a portion of what you've ever spent on it? Not trying to throw shade at anyone, just genuinely curious.

Up a little bit, and I think it's because I only play low stakes holdem occassionally blackjack. Most other casino games, the odds are so bad that it'd be delusional to think you can come out ahead in the long run.

99% of the people who say they are up are likely misleading you or arent keeping good records of their wins/losses. I remember on 60 minutes a owner of a large casino in Vegas stating he has never met a gambler who has won in the long run.

I've had to change my name 3 times to hide from my bookie.

A lot of poker players win in the long run. Also a lot of people count cards in black jack (which is fairly easy once you get the hang of it) which give them an advantage.

Depends on what you consider a gambler is I suppose.

What percentage of the poker players win in the long run? i know a lot of those top tier guys get sponsored by the poker sites so they are playing with free money. With what the house takes i think real money is won by like 5% of the players and i doubt poker players are not dabbing into other games because of the rush.

Up a couple thousand. Had a couple bad trips to Vegas and a couple amazing trips to Vegas. Just playing the basic strategy on Blackjack and I should just stay retired now while I'm still ahead.

This what I mean. Which is why I specified starting from the very first dollar you've put down to gamble in your entire life. It's interesting when you think about it as money you forgot you lost, is probably not perceived as a loss. The same as if you don't budget your money and never checked your bank statements.

This is your lifetime total including losses?

Up a little bit, but I rarely have gambled. Hunt beating Mir actually put me ahead, before I was slightly under. I've only gambled like 8 times in my life. I actually am thinking about trying to gamble more, waiting sometimes months to place a bet if I have to. I'm wondering if I just 2 times a year if I can get ahead. I started with about a $300. I turned that into about $500 now.

My biggest loss was Condit vs Tyrone Woodly. Biggest win was Anderson vs Weidman II, Werdum vs Cain and Hunt vs Mir. I bet 200 on Hunt.

I kick myself in the ass for not betting on Nate. There was really no reason in the world for him to be a 4 to 1 underdog with how their strengths matched up. That was probably the best underdog odds I've seen in mma. Nate should have been like +100 for the short camp. But realistically he is made to beat Conor.

I'm probably down across the board. Lost about $200 in Vegas and maybe $10 in scratchers. I've won some money from my friends in poker games, but that's probably been about $100. Obviously, I'm not much of a gambler at all...

A lot of poker players loses even skilled players because they get confidant when they are in a hot streak and move up to higher stakes (tougher competition). I have no illusion about my situation as a recreational amateur so I always play the low stakes online or in casino.

I agree with you, over the course of my life i think i've lost about 2k in gambling, i might be wrong + or - a couple of hundred but that is to the best of my knowledge. Over the last 5 years i've probably lost about 20 bucks in a casino so most of the losses were when i was younger.

In my previous job i knew one guy who was bragging about making 1k over the weekend at a casino. He was in his 50's and i asked him how much he was up over the course of his life He laughed and was actually frank about his losses being many multiple times that win.

Up a good 6k blackjack Mma bets

Slowly dwindling it away on long shot parlays

Need to go back to my solid 3 teamers

I'm up in Fan Duel this year. Only play NBA tourneys... I've put about $100 in the account and have won $400 so far this season.

A low estimate for me is... Probably down 5k at least but I play a lot of poker. Paying tuition so to speak.

I'm about -200 lifetime. +300 playing poker, -500 betting on sports lol.

Over my lifetime I'm sure I'm down a little. I've won more at casinos than I have lost but only because I almost never go to them and walk out when I am up. But factoring in lotto tickets and the rare poker game I'm sure I'm down a few hundred in my lifetime. I almost never gamble so I'm not a good example.

$38'000.00 down in a 9 month span.
$40'000.00 life time loss.

Up.

Depending on table conditions, size of my wad and how frequently I was playing (usualy 1-3 times a week for a 2-6 hours per session), when I was counting cards as a fairly serious recreational player, I was usually making about $1500-$2000 per month. And that was playing solo on crowded tables where you can't team play, wong in, stuff like that.

Card counting is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. People think it's magic, but it's pretty simple.

Overall I'm up about $200. All from $1,000 I won on a scratch ticket and $350 on a ridiculous parlay last fall. Never won anything at a casino and just recently went into the negative on Fanduel if we're counting that.
