Sorry if this shoudl be in the diet/suppliment section but I like the guys in here, and there answers.

Ok, Im trying my best to eat alot of food and drink alot of milk.

How do you guys get down a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs a day?

UI plan on taking 1.5 liters to work in a plastic bottle and maybe a half dozen hard boiled eggs to work as well as my regular food intake.

What are some of the obsitcals those who have actually drank a gallon of milk and ate a dozen eggs aday had to overcome.

Also how much weight did you guys gain in the first month?

I do a 5x5 3x a week and am 5'10 and about 185lbs. I obviously dont feel as though I eat enough food but I still am able to gain.

Thank you all in advance.

I think you are getting a bit carried away, but maybe some of the guys who had trouble gaining weight can help you out.

I'd reread Urban's post in the FAQ and just follow what he says the best you can. It's actually pretty easy, especially if you like to eat.

Also, the hypertrophy thread right below this one has a lot of information for a guy who is having trouble gaining weight. I'd suggest you read that and see if it solves your problems.

I never had issues gaining weight, so maybe my first reply didn't address your issues well enough. Check the hypertrophy thread.

Eating a dozen eggs a day is easy as shit. Boil 'em. When I'm home where my parents own a store and I have access to cheap (i. e. free) food, I'll go through 12 eggs for breakfast. And then finish off another dozen throughout the rest of the day in addition to the rest of my food. They give you the sour belches like a motherfucker. But it's not hard to eat that many eggs. And you outweigh me.

I had 1,2l of milk, 8 fried eggs with cauliflower + onions and 4 toasts with butter for breakfast the other day, it really wasn't that hard for me to get used to eating a lot. It took about 2 days or so, before I got into a habit of drinking a lot of milk and eating a lot, but the first 2 days I had to force myself to eat.
For drinking a lot of milk, I just drink it through out the whole day - kinda like instead of water.
I'm partly lactose intolerant, and the pills I tried taking didn't help much, but it somehow got better and I have very little problems with milk now.
I gained about 20pounds in the first month.

Thank you for the replys, I will check out the other thread as well. The guy who weighed 90lbs lol thats crazy

This is the key right here. You have to force yourself to eat if you want to gain weight, and before long your body adjusts. You just have to get over the hump.

The whole GOMAD thing is probably a good short-term solution, but if you're drinking whole milk I can't imagine it's a healthy long-term solution. It seems a little excessive to me. Personally, I favor the GOBAD diet - Gallon of Beer a Day.

That the S&P guys are better!!

If it was not for this fourm I would never know who Mark Rippetoe is and I would be wondering around the gym like teh vast majority of the retards.

Now I just make a bee line for the power rack and give dirty looks to the woman doing front squats in my rack.

Ok Im from Canada, is whole milk homoginized? I usually drink 2%.

Thanks.

Im going to start this May1st. Should be exciting.

I've been eating boiled eggs for breakfast lately (convenience) and can barely get 4 down. I start dry heaving. Tell me your secret.

Is it the yoke that gets you? If so, just eat a couple of yolks and a whole bunch of egg whites. I guess it depends on what you're after with the eggs. If it's just a source of protein, most of the protein is in the whites.

And whole milk is 3.25% fat, so 2% is fine.

Eggs are hard to eat for me too. Hardboiling is the easiest way. The trick is to space them out. Eat one or two before you start eating breakfast. Then eat one or two during. Then eat one afterwards.

If I ever become a fatass, I know that eating a couple of eggs will take away my hunger right quick. They are super filling for the amount of calories you actually get.

Have you tried washing them down with milk or water? I had problems getting them down at one stage, now I just chew them up and take a sip of milk. You could mash them up with a fork and wash it down with milk/water, but I think chewing would be better for digestion.

Gram for gram, yolks contain more protein than the whites.

Eat the yolk.

I eat them fast like Kobayashi downing Nathan's dogs. Finish all twelve in less than 5 minutes probably and have a fluid that you like drinking near by (milk, water, soda) to help them go down.

I watched a video about the first guy to clean and jerk over 500 I think it was...He claimed to eat a 36 egg omelet for breakfast every morning.

I'd say hello to the girl doing front squats in my rack....I never see girls doing any meaningful exercises where I work out.

Unless you weigh near 300 lbs of pure muscle, drinking a gallon of milk and eating a dozen eggs each day is stupid.

You wanna gain weight? Eat more food. Eat more of everything though, don't focus on milk and eggs.

I disagree. For me nothing works like whole milk. One its liquid so its easier to down it while still eating regular meals throughout the day. Second it's one of the cheapest sources of calories. I'm poor so it's great.

Telling a guy who doesn't know how to eat to "eat more food" seldom has good results. They add an extra egg to their 2 egg omelette in the morning and think thats fine. A gallon of whole milk is 2k+ calories, that + 3 or more regular meals and the "hard gainer" starts gaining like magic.
