Let's rank the guy who lost his title to Faber over the guy who KO'd the guy who beat Faber for his title.

Modern day fans don't know about the WEC daysUrijah is one of the most under appreciated fighters in history.
But Aldo was also on top for so long that yes, eventually he lost and became competitive with the others on that list. There was an entire generation of FWs that fell to Aldo and so never became champions and therefore didn't make that list.Good list. Shows Aldos body of work.
Should be noted that Volk is undefeated against guys on that list. His head to head closes the gap and creates a legit argument for him.
Also it ignores losses, which do matter in a ranking scenario.
For example I believe Volk is 4-0 vs guys on that list while Aldo is 2-4.
Fuck, I hate Conor and I still think I'd put him above Cole Escovedo, haha.Good list. Some might argue that conman should be higher, but with 0 title defenses, you just can't move him up any.
Volk said something himself a bit ago about how it's not just being the best and beating the best, it's doing it with consistency for a long time, which he said he knows Aldo did. This was like right before the Max trilogy I think, so it's still a pretty fresh opinion from himBut Aldo was also on top for so long that yes, eventually he lost and became competitive with the others on that list. Aldo won the WEC title in 2009 and lost it in 2015. Nobody at FW between those years is on that list at all.
Still, Volk is a great champion and would give a prime Aldo a very tough fight. He's proven himself head and shoulders above the others of his division the way Aldo did in his title reign
Cole was the first featherweight champ. Just like Conor, he won the belt, then went up to lightweight, but he was still the FW champ 2 and a half years later cuz he didn't get stripped like Conor did. Plus he actually defended it once, AND beat the absolute beast that is Poppies Martinez via leg injury at LW, so just imagine what he would do to glass-shinned Conor.Who the fuck is Cole Escovedo
